Overall, such a fantastic choice for building our first home! We've lived in the house for monthsThe builder worked directly with us and was up-front about answering all questions and making desired changes to the plan we chose, giving us a personalized experience and a custom homeChoosing every detail of materials and colors was tedious and brain-wracking at times, but paid off in getting the exact style we wanted for our homeAll materials used by all the partnered contractors were definitley "superior" in quality and workmanship, especially when compared to most other new homes in this price rangeThey did not cut cornersEverything from roof to floor-boards and deck craftsmanship were of incredible durability, and we paid very close attention to the building processGreat valueHowever, no builder is perfect which is to be expectedIt took a couple of months to get the little unfinished details complete post-walk throughWe closed anyway, and didn't mind scheduling contractors to come over for things like (not the whole list) a missing piece of crown molding on kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinet hardware, a switched-out style of the front door handle, and leaky GE dishwasher doorThis builder gave a 1-year warranty on everything and there are no issues nowWe still have brown shutters though, and we ordered black; we have this request in writingThere is only one set on the houseWe were told in July by the site manager that when the brown set was installed, that the mistake was that another house of the builder's accidentally got our black ones and we got theirs, and he would put black shutters on orderThere was some kind of mis-communication but we tried to be patient and not draw conclusionsNow January 2015, and no word on when the shutters will be correctedA few weeks ago, we contacted our builder for the 3rd or 4th time, this time we were told that black was not a choice, but that someone will come paint them black, which would last longer than the original vinyl color anyway(But your new house down the street has black shutters!??) We were taken aback after these mixed messages and expressed our disappointment a few weeks ago, and haven't heard anything sinceIt's a small detail, but we want them to do the right thing and not "paint over it." This wouldn't be a big enough reason to not recommend Superior to someone, but after too much back and forth over a $set of shutters and getting no response, you get a little annoyed
