On November 21, [redacted] contacted Superior RestorationShe stated she had a leak inher home and her tenant had mold growing on her contents due to this leakMs [redacted] requestedSuperior Restoration come to the home to perform an inspection and provide an estimate for theremediation.When Superior Restoration arrived to the home, Ms [redacted] asked our technician if she had anactive leakThe technician stated that we aren't plumbers and she would need to contact aplumber or leak detection company to determine if there was an active leak causing the moldgrowthOur technician did identify some cracks and water seepage in the shower tile groutHedid not say it was from a leak, but the shower was not sealed properly and could be an area ofconcernThe tenant living at the property had a mold test performed prior to our inspection, and the reportidentified elevated mold sporesWhen the technician wrote up the estimate, he wrote it based onthe mold report provided by the tenantThere wasn't visible mold growth on walls andcabinetry; however, there was visible mold growth on the tenant's contents including pictures,clothing, bedding, furniture, etcThe estimate the technician provided the homeowner was forsetting up contained areas, placing dr [redacted] equipment, as well as placing negative air machines, inorder to clean and remove mold spores and moisture from the airThe estimate also included adisinfecting and cleaning of all the contents in the affected areaThis type of cleaning is verydetailed and labor intensiveThe estimate also included packing and storing the cleanedcontents, as well as the unaffected contents, in a rented, onsite storage containerMs [redacted] got several estimates over the course of several days and she called Superior Restorationon December 1, requesting Superior to do the workOur original estimate was in theamount of$9244; however, Ms [redacted] asked if we would be willing to give a discount for theproject if she chose Superior RestorationThe homeowner signed the contract in the amount of$8,on December 1, Superior Restoration began work the following dayWe beganthe project by placing containments, air cleaning and dr [redacted] equipmentThen we began theextensive cleaning processOn December 5, 2014, Ms [redacted] decided to discontinue services withSuperior RestorationBecause Superior Restoration had already been cleaning and packingcontents for two full days, we had to bill her for work already performedThere was a storagecontainer that was rented by Superior on behalf of Ms [redacted] already being packedOf the $8000contract $6,of work had already been performed by the time the contract was terminated onDecember 5, Ms [redacted] was aware that by terminating the contract she would still beresponsible for the work already performed, and she signed paperwork stating she was aware andalso signed a "Hold Harmless Agreement" due to removal of Superior Restoration from theproject prior to completionMs [redacted] had previously issued Superior Restoration a check in theamount of$on December 1, Once Ms***'s check had cleared the bank, SuperiorRestoration then issued her a refund in the amount of$The majority of the work andcleaning had already been performed by the time Ms [redacted] had terminated the contract, so a thirdparty coming in for a second opinion at that time is unable to offer accurate, unbiasedinformation based on what was there previously and what was found on the job site during hisinspectionIt is Superior Restoration's desire to not have any negative reviews, and we believe thiscomplaint is not valid as we have a signed contract as well as a payment from the homeownerprior to our work beginningFor your convenience I have included copies of the signed contract, as well as the other signeddocuments from Ms***Sincerely, [redacted] Office Manager
