I am rejecting this response because:The business errs in that we did not ask for an "on-the-spot, free diagnosis". We asked for a radiator flush. Randy insisted on the phone and in person that we needed a new radiator. He offered an unsolicited and erroneous diagnosis claiming that he could feel a temperature difference across the radiator; he indicated the radiator was clogged which it wasn't.(He calls the radiator "plastic", but the radiator is primarily metal with "plastic" just on the ends. This description as well as calling the radiator "disposable" were meant to confuse me and whoever reads his message. Once the radiator was removed, it is easy to see that the plastic part is robust and in good condition)At no time prior to installing the new radiator did Randy tell us that the age of the radiator was the sole grounds for replacing the radiator. On the contrary he said the various things I mentioned -- erroneous claim that it couldn't be flushed because the plastic would break, erroneous claim of hot and cold portions of radiator indicating clog. Due to my daughter's financial condition, she would wait until the radiator began to fail to replace it, not replace it when it is in good condition and functioning normally. She was only interested in solving the overheating not replacing all older parts on her car. Because the radiator was not clogged, replacing it did NOT solve the overheating. Randy erroneously says that any other radiator technician would have done the same thing, but an honest technician is going to tell the customer that the replacement of the radiator is preventative rather than a solution to their overheating problem when it isn't. Randy tricked us with lies into thinking the radiator needed to be replaced to solve the overheating problem. The car still has a high temperature reading

Response to report. Here at Superior Radiator we  work on thousands of vehicles a year and on many thousands of radiators customers carry in to our shop. We pride ourselves on coming up with solutions for all types of overheating and leaking issues. Many folks want a on the spot free diagnosis...

to their on going cooling system problems. Sometimes if a good  past customer stops by we make a quick diagnostic  assessment. With over 38 years of experience we tell the customer what would be the best solution to help or solve their attempt at a heating or cooling problem or a recommended solution to a future problem as in this case. This vehicle had a previous head gasket thermostat and waterpump replaced all by the customer. They brought in the car profusely telling us that their vehicle still overheated and did not know what to do next to solve the problem. Our recommended solution was to replace the only part left that would cause this issue of overheating coolant. With a plastic radiator that is only meant to last 15 years .This car was about 27 years old, way beyond their manufactures recommended replacement for this radiator. This was the solution. Any tech with the massive training in the field of automotive heating and cooling that we have  would also recommend the solution we gave as a recommended procedure. We have automotive shops/ automotive dealerships/ factories and recommendations from everyone coming to Superior Radiator for our expertise in this field of automotive heating and cooling. In fact this customer has entrusted us many times before. And we thank them for the opportunity to serve them. We will not back away from doing the same positive and proper recommended procedures that we always have done now and in the past. Thanks again from Superior Radiator inc.
