Review: I am sending this letter to solicit your help with getting a refund from the car repair company, Superior Transmission, located at [redacted]. I have sent this company a letter regarding my concerns with my transmission. The company has replaced my transmission three times within four months, August 7, 2012, October 8, 2012, and again on November, 26, 2012. The mileage on my vehicle, when the first repair occurred was approximately 165,443. Today, the mileage on my car is 182,655. The company, to date, has received a total of $3695 from me.

I visited Superior Transmission last Wednesday, April 24, 2013, to have the company inspect my transmission. The technician stated that my truck was slow getting into second gear and that there was an issue with the transmission. After speaking with the owner, [redacted], I was promised that he would make contact with several individuals to confirm that my engine light had nothing to do with the transmission problem. He confirmed on Thursday that it did not and that he was going to contact me on Thursday, April 25, 2013 with a solution on how to fix my truck. I informed [redacted] that I no longer wanted his company to repair my vehicle and that I would like a full refund. I quoted his slogan that his company “Fixed the problem the first time guaranteed,” and unfortunately after several attempts, I did not have the success that was promised.

My 2003 Acura MDX is my only source of transportation. I need reliable transportation to get my two sons to and from school as well as to my place of employment. Please review the enclosed letter and reply with how you would be able to assist me with this matter. Thank you for your time and attention regarding this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.Desired Settlement: My name is [redacted], a current customer of your business. I have serious reservations and complaints about the quality of work I have received over the past 9 months. In the span of four months, from August 2012 to November 2012, I had three refurbished transmissions installed in my 2003 Acura MDX. The reason for this letter presently is that I, once again, have been told by your company, as well as another independent car repair business, that there is a problem with the transmission and that it will need to be fixed. Please understand that each time this problem occurs, it presents significant inconvenience and difficulty for me, since this is the only vehicle I own. The transmission supposedly has a (3) year or 100,000 miles warranty. When the transmission was first replaced in August 2012, I had 165,443. The current mileage of my vehicle is 182,655.

I am upset because I took your company as an honest establishment, especially since your company was featured in a 2008 Washington Post article that you display on your website. Instead, I am finding my experience with Superior Transmissions unsatisfactory and subpar. The problem, to me, seems that either the transmission itself is compromised or your business continues to improperly install each new transmission. At this point, I am not sure how this can be adequately resolved. I do not think it is wise to continue to have repair work done at your facility. I believe a proper resolution would be I receive a full refund. I can have the car repair business I take my vehicle to uninstall the transmission and replace it with another one. If the above resolution is not acceptable, and a resolution you offer is not acceptable by me, then I will begin to seek legal means to rectify this situation, including, but not limited to: (1) filing a complaint with the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection, (2) filing a complaint with the Maryland Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, and/or (3) filing a civil lawsuit in a Maryland District Court.

Please understand that the legal remedies I laid out above are not my preferred resolutions to this issue. I simply want my vehicle to work the way it is supposed to work, nothing more. I have lost faith in your company’s ability to deliver the product and service in an adequate and acceptable manner. Whatever your response, please provide it in writing.

Review: Brought 2003 BMW X5 in to shop April 18, 2013 to be repaired because of Transmission Failure Light on and car accelerates extremely slowly from stand still. Explained to [redacted] (owner) the car needed some other work (brakes, minor adjustments), informed by **. [redacted] other needed work will not interfere with overhauling the transmission to work properly. Work preformed in three days, paid Superior Transmission $3,702,00, After approx. one week car begins to exhibit the same transmission problems as before overhaul. Returned the car under warranty approx. May 6.2013 within 1000 miles for warranty compliance check up. Car returned to me "should be ok now".Approx. 3 days later same problems. Returned car, kept in shop for two weeks: "should be ok now".

After fourth return, explained by **. [redacted] transmission must be working with other computerized components on car, therefore possible needing an ABS component which was in direct opposition to what was explained to me initially.

**. [redacted] said he will have the car checked out by BMW expert nearby(approx June 19,2013). Car kept for three weeks! After repeated calls informed by **, [redacted] transmission may need ABS to work property (again in direct opposition to what was told me initially). Car given back to me with the same problem prior to bringing It in initially (Transmission Failure light on and acceleration almost none from a stand still) (Approx July 18,2013). Car returned to Superior Transmission again under warranty, this time kept for two weeks and returned to me (Aprox.August 6,2013). At this point informed by [redacted] that the transmission problem cannot be determined, may need ABS (additional cost of $1200.00 to $1600.00) for Transmission to work. It is my contention that Superior Transmissions upon initial examination of my car to determine that a transmission overhaul was needed should havB informed me of any other issues that may have been needed before overhauling the transmission to have it it work properly, not pay almost $4000.00 and not have have the transmission work properly.

I am requesting that Superior Transmissions do what is necessary to be in compliance with their warranty including replacing an ABS to get my $4000.00 transmission overhaul working properly or refund the portion of that paid which will do so. Additionally Superior Transmission kept my car at its shop for some seven (7) weeks over a period of 3 1/2 months.Desired Settlement: Refund or completion of repair.
