I am reaching out to you in regards to the complaint made by, [redacted]. We had sent her a check to the amount of $150 USD on October **,2014, which was then cashed. We have not heard back from her nor your agency. Please reply and update your records.

[redacted]'s case, we were more than willing to pay out any price she felt was appropriate with no hesitation, so long as the right of salvage was respected. As another alternative, we would take the damaged goods and find a solution for her. She felt the need to keep the damaged goods and would not comply in having a professional bill us for the repair/replacement.. The offer still stands, we are here to serve not hinder.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The company's response fails to recognize the need for a compromise as stated in my complaint. I have made clear multiple times that I am more than happy to respect "right of salvage" and surrender the damaged glasses, but I need the company to allow me to do so AFTER I receive the funds needed for replacing them. The reason I have had to file this complaint is that the company's willingness to pay for replacement glasses is contingent upon me FIRST giving them the ruined glasses. For the reasons already outlined in my initial complaint, I cannot surrender my old glasses until after I have new ones. These issues have been ignored by the company in their response.
Again, I will state once more that I am happy to surrender the old glasses, but I need to keep them for backup use (ruined glasses are better than no glasses) and for sizing when I buy the replacement pair. I cannot proceed in buying the replacement pair until I have the funds from the company which will enable me to do so. Therefore, the company needs to trust me that I will send them the old glasses once I get their check and buy new glasses. Or they need to offer an alternative compromise that meets my basic need of having the old glasses in my possession until they are successfully replaced with new glasses paid for by the company's money.
Additionally, it should be noted that the company's response claims their willingness to pay "any amount" needed. After I told their employee [redacted] on the phone that my estimate on the cost for new glasses was at minimum $150-$200 for a modest pair of frames and basic lenses, he then told me that I would receive exactly $150, the absolute bare minimum of the estimated amount. The willingness to pay "any amount" is new, and I appreciate it, but it is not what I have been told up until this point and it does not change that my interactions with this company have been nothing but disappointing. They have had no sympathy for my situation (it has not been easy to be without my glasses -- a basic health need -- for what's now almost 2 months) and have barely even so much as apologized, let alone done the right thing. Their technician ruined my glasses (glasses I loved) and it should not be this much of a hassle for me to get them replaced. I will respect "right of salvage," but the company must respect my needs in that process.
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,

Review: This company came to my apartment to refinish my bathtub on 8/**/14. The technician who completed the work covered some of the surfaces in the bathroom to prevent the refinishing paint spray from getting onto them, but failed to cover many surfaces including the top of the medicine cabinet. The spray from the tub refinishing got into the medicine cabinet and left a mist of spray on everything inside. Many things had to be thrown out such as toothbrushes, contact lens cases, pill cutters, and more. Most notably, my eyeglasses were ruined by the spray.I replaced many things and spent hours cleaning others, and only contacted the company about the cost of the glasses, since they were the most expensive item. They insisted I should clean the eyeglasses with rubbing alcohol. I explained that rubbing alcohol is not safe for eyeglasses because it strips off protective coatings. After much back and forth, the company said they would send me a check for $150 towards the cost of new glasses, but only if I first mailed them the ruined glasses. I explained that I needed the old glasses for sizing when I went to buy new glasses. Additionally, I was hesitant to be without any glasses (ruined or otherwise) during the interim while awaiting their check and then the purchase of replacement glasses. They still insisted I mail the old glasses and that they would keep them. To compromise, I offered to either send pictures of the damage and/or to send them the glasses with a SASE so they could send them back to me to use for sizing when I buy the new glasses. They were unwilling to accept either compromise and to this date I have not received any money towards the cost of new glasses. The company claims they will send the money if I send the glasses, but I need to use the glasses for sizing when I finally buy new frames and am in need of a compromise. The employee I dealt with was named [redacted] and he acted as a go-between for the [redacted]. He refused to let me speak to the [redacted] or anyone else.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the $150 for replacement glasses. I am happy to send pictures of the ruined glasses to the company or to send the glasses with a SASE for their return, but I cannot send them for the company to keep. It should be noted that I haven't asked the company to pay for the other items I had to replace (toothbrushes, contact lens cases, etc. -- about $25) or to pay for the time and cleaning supplies that were needed to clean up after their technician's mess.
