Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/10/05) */
Contact Name and Title: Michael C***, Pres

The customer purchased a Acura from us on August 10th, Approximately one week later the car came back with a check
engine light concern, and we scheduled an appointment to have it checked outThe appointment was missed and rescheduled by the customer, and on September 1st the car was brought into our shop for diagnostic testingWe ordered the part needed to correct the check engine light issue and agreed to take care of it at no costThe part is here, and we have made several unsuccessful attempts to contact this customer to bring the vehicle back for the free repairWe have worked very hard to maintain a good reputation in the community over the last years we have been in business here, and we are more than willing to help this customer with other problems that may have come up since we last spokeThe vehicle is still covered under the month / mile warranty that was included at no charge at the time of purchasePlease let this customer know we have the part to repair the check engine light, and to please call and schedule a time to bring it in to our service department
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/10/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The dealer knowing sold me a car that he resetI will provide phone records to show that I contacted them within hours of picking up the carEvery time I tell him that something is wrong with the vehicle he keeps saying well I don't know anything about thatBrake lights, engine lights, safety air bag lights and transmission problems all within the first hours is outrageous
You are dishonest, and a scamI don't want you to fix it I want you to take it backYou are ethically wrong and you and your sales team knows iti should have left when I had the chanceLike I said before I do not trust that you will fix the vehicle because you have been sketchy ever since you received your paymentPeople do not like being beat out of their hard earned money, and I hope someone reads this and thinks twice about a purchase with you
By the way when I asked for you to put everything in writing that was wrong with the car you refused, thus proving my point even more that you are shady, because if you had nothing to hide you would have done itTo bad I asked after the purchaseYou give used dealerships a bad nameI have never had an issue with a used dealer before and I will not recommend that you do business here

***, You have had the van almost a month now, and the closer it gets to your first payment due date, the more in a hurry you seem to be to back out of this transactionWe have been asking you to bring in the van since the first day you said the light was on (which was in your email dated
April 10), and after all this time and several requests by us, you have still not done soI remember that we had a similar situation last year when you purchased a different Odyssey van from us and tried to cancel that deal before making any payments, your brother ended up taking over the loan for you on that oneIf you were really concerned about the safety of this van I would have expected you to bring it in the very next day as we askedBut now you have used the van for a month, and while we are trying desperately to get you in to fix the van, you ignore us completely and then trash us on google and the Revdex.com without ever giving us an opportunity to correct the problemsIf you are trying to make the situation better I think you are really going about it the wrong wayStep one is for you to get the van into our service department so we can determine what it needsWhen you emailed us a couple days after you picked up the van, you indicated problems with wiper blade, which we fixed at no charge, and the key wouldn’t open the hatch, which we fixed at no charge, but your email doesn’t mention a check engine light being on at that timeWe emailed you on April asking to bring the van in for service, and again on April 11, and April 12, and we left several voicemails for you over the following several days, and we had conversations with your brother who lives with you, and he said he would have you get back to us, but no response from you, and you never brought the van in for serviceIn your email you have said that you love the vanAnd we have separate previous email leads from you asking specifically for a vanAnd you are concerned for you son’s safety in the van, but you have put forth no effort to have it repaired, even after I offered the possibility of having it fixed it for freeI feel that we are making every effort available to us right now to resolve this, but you have been simply unwilling to cooperateI have built a very good reputation over the past years that I have been in business at this very location, and am very proud of itWhen you decide to go online and lie about the facts of this situation to make yourself look victimized, it is both unfair and dishonest on your partI will defend myself as necessary, especially since I know the truth and we have nothing to hide So, repeating what I said in my email to you on April 17, “I would like you to drop it off as soon as possible so we can see what the problem is and what it takes to fix itI promise we will not charge you for looking at it.” Honestly ***, I don’t know what more I can do to accommodate youPlease call and schedule an appointment, and don’t forget your first payment is due very soon Sincerely, ***

I am rejecting this response because:The consumer sent the following email to the Ohio Attorney General's office, and the business. From: [redacted] [mailto:[redacted]] Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2017 10:57 AMTo: [redacted]Subject: 2003 Honda Odyssey Dear [redacted], I appreciate your response regarding the used car I purchased on March 22, 2017 that has been not working properly since the day I left your lot. I understand about the warranty process where I am to pay half but in this situation it would only be proper for you to fix this vehicle the way it should have been when I picked it up that day. As for the tires and other repairs you say the car had received, I would appreciate copies of that information for my records. I have to be honest. It doesn't make me feel secure that I bought a car from your dealership and that very day it is causing me all this trouble and now you expect me to pay half to repair it. At this point this car would not pass an inspection with the engine light on, which is hard to believe no one at your dealership did not detect it before allowing me to purchase it. In my opinion, this sale was deceptive. If I were to keep this car, I should not incur any expenses for it to be up to par with a safe used car for the amount of money I paid out. Right now this car is not worth what I paid. So I was cheated. Please consider canceling the sale of this car, making the loan paid in full and allowing me to purchase another car. I honestly don't want to deal with having to repair this car and realistically it may not be the only repairs this car needs. I would appreciate a response as soon as possible as I need this car to safely transport my disabled son to school. Thank you,   [redacted]
