The John RJurgensen Company (JRJ) received the above referenced a complaint via email from Ms*** on July 8, at 1:PM JRJ began an investigation into the complaint immediately and the results are as follows JRJ was contracted by the City of Montgomery to cold plain
(mill) and resurface various streets for the City In an effort to lessen inconvenience to both the residents and the motoring public and increase the safety to our employees (less traffic exposure), Main Street was to be milled and resurfaced in day To further lessen the inconvenience, this work was to be completed on a Saturday The City of Montgomery regularly updates information concerning construction on their webpage I have attached for reference a copy of an update concerning this vary project that was recently posted https://www.montgomeryohio.org/latest-update-on-street-resurfacing-project/ Ms*** states in her complaint that the contractor was to provide hours notice to residents prior to completing this work In the event curb, driveways or adjacent alleyways are being removed (closed), this hour notice is required That was not the case in this situation Main street work was completed utilizing a temporary closure that consisted of flaggers and police officers and no streets, driveways or adjacent alleyways were permanently closed Residents were only inconvenienced temporarily and only long enough for the milling crew to clean debris from in front of driveways and surface asphalt to be rolled and compacted Our contract did require No Parking signs to be posted along Main Street at least hours prior to work beginning This requirement was met and No Parking signs posted a minimum of hours to the beginning of construction I have attached a copy of a photo taken by a supervisor while this work was being completedThis photo verifies the street postings and use of police officers during this construction The photo only shows the back of the signs however, an inspector for the City verified these signs are indeed the No Parking signs required per the contract.JRJ is sympathetic to Ms***'s concerns and apologizes for an any inconvenience she may have encountered during this construction project
