I have requested proof from *** *** that he is certified in removing and cleaning up mold issues, and I have yet to receive anything that states he is.I should not have to have Cortese come to my house times a yr to check my humidityI shouldn't have to worry that I have a continuing issue.I have damage here that was caused by the humidity issue that Cortese should be responsible for taking care of.I had a mold remediator here to give me an estimate as to what needs to be done to make this house safe to live inPlease see attachedA little bit more involved than wiping visible mold residue off with a product called "Shock"I should not not be responsible for this expense

I will be having some air quality tests done today by ***, and will be moving forward with their plan for mold removalI need Cortese to act on his offer immediately. I can not waiting any longer for Cortese to decide what they want to doI've asked them times for proof that *** is certified in mold removal, and he has ignored my requestsIt has now been months since I first spotted the mold, and conditions in this house are beginning to become as they were last time this yearI'm guessing due to the venting and fans in my basement, my current temp down there is degrees with 46% humidity, much too highMy furnace is still running, my bedroom is reading degrees and 37% humidity, really too high in there also.I need to know what is causing the high humidity issueI can have the mold removed, but if I don't know what caused it, it'll just come back

In response to Ms....

[redacted]’s complaint, we will address her issues in the order in which she wrote them: The cabinet in question is the unit over the refrigerator which customarily doesn’t require a shelf due to its height, we did however order this shelf for Ms. [redacted] and have it in our possession ready to be installed should we receive her return phone call to get back into the space. “Electrical outlets into which plugs do not fit”; these outlet receptacles are code required tamper resistant plugs, they require the prongs of any plug to enter the receptacle at the same time and a little extra effort to insert. This is a safety requirement to prevent children from inserting objects into the outlet and being electrocuted. “A drawer that does not close, squeaky doors and cabinets totally out of alignment”; these are new issues, that was not mentioned on our punch list sign off meeting, we would be happy to return to remedy this if Ms. [redacted] would return our phone calls.  “They left my sink backed up with "industrial waste" which the workers had been flushing down. This posed a problem for the building in which I reside. The list of inferior work goes on”; The kitchen sink was not even connected to the building plumbing until we were putting the finishing touches on the project and connecting the customers drain and faucet. Regardless we told Ms. [redacted] we would snake the line and take care of this issue but she is yet to return any of our calls. Ms. [redacted] had even informed our foreman before the project commenced that the sink was slow draining, there was clearly a preexisting issue in this case.  “Cortese employs very young inexperienced workers. They had no supervision as had been promised. As a matter of fact, they make many promises and keep few of them”; Our field supervisor who checks in on all projects daily was there on average 3-4 times a week, based on our gps tracking in his vehicle.  All our staff, regardless of age are properly vetted to insure experienced craftsmanship and top quality as you will be able to see in the photos attached. “We were forced to seek emergency plumbing service to avert a building wide crisis. I have had to resort to having repairs made by others”; We are contractually obliged to have the first right of refusal on any repair or service work related to this project. Cortese has made countless attempts to contact Ms. [redacted] to remedy the issues mentioned, unfortunately we have not to this day, received a return phone call to arrange this. We still are more than happy to tackle any issues that are causing Ms. [redacted] unhappiness with her kitchen remodel in an effort to close out our final payment. “As I notified Cortese’s lawyer, I shall deduct these expenses from the final payment. Ironically, the company is suing me. A big headache and an even bigger expense for a lack luster kitchen that has no relevance to the rest of my elegant apartment. My point in making this statement; CAVEAT EMPTOR”; Upon final inspection, that is correct the customer is responsible to point out any remaining “punch-list” items in the meeting held with the company representative. Ms. [redacted]’s signed punch list file is attached. There was no mention of more than half of the items in this complaint of which she may have found after inspection and never brought to our attention. Cortese Construction is looking to resolve this matter amicable and receive our final payment. We have gone above and beyond for Ms. [redacted]. Her first countertop selection she did not like, we not only paid our supplier the fee to install one Quartz countertop, we also footed the bill to remove the top she “didn’t like” (of which her selection was signed off and approved upon completion of install), we also allowed her to make a new selection of whatever color top she wanted, which Cortese completely took care of for her as a courtesy, this was a $5,590 value. We are requesting a return call from Ms. [redacted] to arrange a service call for any issues that are outstanding. Our multiple attempts to reach her have still gone without a return call. Once the items are addressed we are looking for payment in full of $6,500 per her payment schedule on the contract signed with Cortese Construction. Thank you, Domenic V.
