Mr [redacted] came in on June 4, around 11: a.mwanting to rent a storage unit After figuring out the size he needed, I took him upstairs to show him the unit After complaining about the price I told him Iwould give him month free when he pays for a full month He was ok with that He inquired about renting the truck He asked if it was possible to have it for days I told him I would try to workwith him on that but it was reserved for Saturday (5th)Then I proceeded to get his lease ready, I explained the cost which is prorated on the rent coming in but not when you vacate & the insurance & there is a onetime charge of $for Administration fee He got very irate threw his keys down on thecounter & said he would go elsewhereI told him I would waive the $Admin fee (even though I had just given him a month free.) He asked me if we could hold one of his keys for himAs a courtesy, I told him we would We continued, completed the lease, then back to the truck.I explained the truck is $for insurance, per mile and he needs to bring it back filledAgain, he got irate and said that it says it is free I explained to him that it is free because you are not paying anything for the truck rentalJust for mileage and the gas I explained other truck rental companies charge to rent the truck, also pay permileage and a deposit could be requiredHe said some ugly words and told me that we have advertising.I didn’t say anything else to him regarding the truck I walked him to the gate key pad, walked himup to his unit, showed him how to use the cylinder key which SurePoint Self Storage provides for free and we went back down stairs Showed him how to enter the code on the exitkey pad I shook his hand and thanked him for his business Told him if there was anything we could do for him to please let us know.He said “Thank You” and left.“We believe Mr [redacted] was treated very well and see no basis for his claim."

I haven't not moved everything into the unit yetI would love to use that truck without having to pay the mileage feeI think it is fair to paying for the gasI just don't want to pay the mileage fee since they advertise a free truck

I am rejecting this response because this manager thinks that being nice(and she was and I have no gripes with her) makes false advertising ok!  A Free Truck is what they advertise.  Here are the numbers on this "free truck":Assumption 4-25 mile trips or 50 miles roundtrip Gas-                                        $50.00Insurance                               �...⇄ $15.00Mileage for 200 miles                 $138.00Total                                  ...⇄ $203.00Now if that sounds free, then I guess it is.  My next step is to see if other media outlets think it is free.

I haven't not moved everything into the unit yet. I would love to use that truck without having to pay the mileage fee. I think it is fair to paying for the gas. I just don't want to pay the mileage fee since  they advertise a free truck.
