Sure-Tech Appliance Service Reviews (1)

I contacted Sure Tech to repair our oven that was giving us a "F7" error code and was not heating up. The cook stove and display worked fine, the LG stove we owned was only 6 years old. I had previously had this company come to repair a dryer, that experience cost close to $600 to fix and the dryer only lasted another 3 months but it was an old dryer and so I wasn't too upset. A new dryer on sale cost less then the repairs so I vowed I would not spend too much money to repair another appliance again, yet a new stove is closer to $1100-$1200 so I decided I would try to have the oven fixed. It cost $140 just to have the technician come to my house and diagnose the problem, a control board they told me would only cost $58 plus labour. I had them order the part, two weeks later, they had the part in and realized it was the wrong part, the right one was more like $150. Two to three weeks later, they put the new part in, it did not work. The technician (a different one) said I needed to order another control board, that "in his experience" this error code almost always meant 2 different control boards needed to be replaced. Because I'd already invested the money for one board, I felt I needed to continue with this process. Adding the cost of the new board onto my tab brought the tally up to approx. $5-600 spent. I happened to ask what is the warranty on these parts and was told 90 days parts and service. Another 2-3 weeks later the board is in and the oven works, only to give the same error code and stop working 1 week later. I contacted Sure tech to let them know and asking what can be done since we were within the warranty period. They said that they would come back to do a more in depth diagnostic on the stove at their cost (part of the warranty), but I felt that it would probably cost me a lot more money for no guarantee it would be fixed, I'd already spent $5-600 and this had taken three months already. I felt I deserved my money back as part of the warranty for the parts, parts that did not fix the problem, if they were ever the problem but I would never know that unless I agreed to have them come back to do the "in depth" diagnostic. I never expected them to want to give me money back for work done even if it still does not work. They said no and I got the sense from the rep
on the phone that they found me to be quite dense and unreasonable for being upset that I had spent all this money and time and still had no working oven. Long and short, my experience with Sure tech appliance service is that it takes your money, gives no guarantee and you have to still buy a new appliance plus promotes a "throw away" society.
