workers at a variety of client companies.  It advertises open positions on behalf of its client companies and conducts general screening prior to placement at the client location.  Mr. [redacted] applied for a job at one of the company’s clients on 11/4/16.  The particular client requires a resume which they also screen before selecting the best qualified candidate for interview.  Mr. [redacted] was told that this was the process for being selected for the position for which he applied while he was in the office on 11/4/16.    Based on Mr. [redacted]’s experience, he did not qualify for the job paying $17.50/hr; however, he did qualify for a job paying $13.50/hr.   The office staff informed him of the same and also notified him that they sent his resume to the client to review.  The office staff did not hear back from the client company regarding Mr. [redacted] being selected for an interview.  However, on November 16, after an inquiry from Mr. [redacted], the office staff resubmitted his resume for consideration.  He was told that he would be contacted if he was selected for an interview.  Two days later, Mr. [redacted] filed this Revdex.com complaint.  As of the date of this response, the company has learned that the client company did not select Mr. [redacted] for an interview as they had other more qualified candidates that were chosen instead.    Mr. [redacted] was not promised or guaranteed a position.  Rather, he was specifically told that the client company would review his credentials and if he ranked among the most qualified applicants, he would be selected for an interview.  Unfortunately, Mr. [redacted] did not rank among the most qualified candidates so was not selected for an interview.  The job market and selection process was and is very competitive.   However, Mr. [redacted] would still be eligible for placement at other client companies of Surge should he choose to follow the employer’s policy to make his availability for other work known.  Surge screened Mr. [redacted] as it would any potential applicant, and just because a position at one client may not be available does not mean other positions at other locations are not.  Mr. [redacted] should contact the Surge office to inquire about other possible positions should he wish to work through Surge Staffing. Surge Staffing does not pay for time or travel to and from its office as part of its interview and screening process.  This is a cost born by the applicant when seeking work and applying for jobs at any company.  As a result, Surge cannot honor Mr. [redacted]’s request for reimbursement since he performed no services on behalf of Surge.  Please contact me with any questions concerning the above employer response.  Thank you.  [redacted], Esq.
