Review: Surpass Your Dreams is an online career coaching business. I believe [redacted], the [redacted], was unprofessional and detrimental rather than helpful. I bought the three-month plan for $1200. The plan promises: "Three-Month Telephone Coaching Program$1,200. ($400 A MONTH.) This three-month package includes: Nine, 50-minute one-on-one, private, and confidential telephone coaching calls, a full client only web page filled with resources Ive collected since I started coaching in 1998 on how to get ahead and create the career/life youve always wanted, an on-line career assessment, and e-mail support throughout your program." [redacted]'s webpage was from 1998 and provided no up-to-date help for writing resumes or cover letters. She told me to leave the dates off of my various jobs, and that the resume was "fine." During one of the first calls she told me that I would not get an internship I said I was going to apply for to get some experience in social media marketing. She said, "You won't get it, but if you want to practice interviewing go ahead." I did and I got the internship. When told her she said nothing. Then I sent her my resume (the exact same one I gave her before) to be sure there was nothing else to prove. This time she told me that it was so bad that I would have to pay her $99. more to give me a full critique. Apart from eroding my confidence and trying to convince me to pay for services included in the $1200., [redacted] is an extremely unsophisticated counselor. The calls were sometimes pep talks anyone could have offered or shaming sessions. The career assessment was online. I took it and she never referred to it at all. I hope that no one else who is out of work is duped into wasting their money on this service. Everything she has to offer can be found online for free and she is not a good listener or a supportive coach.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded $900.00. The time spent was worth that. In all fairness I should ask her to pay me more than $1200. for undermining my confidence. But I would feel ok if the business refunded me $900.00.
