We had a medical emergency within our family and had to be at a hospital for a family member who was in serious conditionIn no way did we breach the contract, as with any business, there is no guarantee of an item being ready or delivered at a specific time on a specific day when it is a custom orderEmergencies happen! Our policies are clearly stated up top in our business page in which this customer had access to 24/7, we do not have any guarantee for an item and/or items to be ready for pick up on a specific dateWe stand by our policies

I am rejecting this response because: I certainly respect a non-refundable deposit policy when the buyer has backed out of the transaction for reasons within their control I believe that in this situation the item is quite different than the expectations I was given In addition to this issue, The seller breached the "contract" that we had by not having the table done in the timeframe promised and did not provide a sufficient notice that they would be able to have the table done in time Thank you

total was $and she paid a $deposit at time of ordering,leaving a $balance due at pick upAll the items we make are from barn wood dated and 1892, and all items are custom*** was notified that we were running behind and offered a later pick up date or we could send the supplies for the stain, poly and paint finish with her and take $off her order balance, she declined and stated she did not like the photo's of the table and bench and wanted her deposit back*** was told that we do not refund the deposit if the materials were purchased, the project was built and the customer did not pick up the item. *** indicated she was a member of This Old Barn group in face book, at the top of the page in a pinned post it states "We charge a deposit for all orders at time of ordering, this amount comes off the final price at pick upWe prefer Pay Pal at time of order, a verification of the deposit is promptly sent for your recordsA paper receipt is available at pick up as wellNote that deposits are non refundable if the order is not picked up by the customer , All sales are final." We sold the table and bench after days, our material costs, labor costs and storage costs were $+ $151.60= $Her deposit did not cover our costs for the materials, labor and storageThe non refundable deposit notice is clear, it has a date it was entered in 2015, it has not been changedThis is clear and at the top of the pageWe stand behind our policy.

Her deposit did not cover our costs for the materials, labor and storage. The non refundable deposit notice is clear, it has a date it was entered in 2015, it has not been changed. This is clear and at the top of the page. We stand behind our policy.
