Thank you for your email regarding this complaint against [redacted].
I have investigated based on the information provided in the complaint and have found that the customer had reached out to us again last week and the supervisor of the Directories has taken additional...

steps to delete permanently the customer record and ensure that the customer name will no longer come up associated with the Directory.  Again as originally stated to the customer this takes time to process through the search engine systems before it will no longer be seen.
If I can be of further assistance please let me know.
Thank you.

Revdex.com:
The business refunded me the amount requested, in response to an email I sent the CEO.  Thank you.

[redacted]

As I am not the original customer service rep for this situation I may not have all of the facts but I do know that [redacted] had a professional profile listed in our [redacted].  The listing cost $29.95 per month.  At some point [redacted] decided to cancel the listing which to my knowledge was done as soon as we were notified that he wished to cancel.  We do notify customers that it can take some time for their information to no longer appear in search engine results.
We have many professionals that wish to cancel for many reasons with some that wish to cancel only for a limited time and then they come back and restart their listings.  As the listings are internet based our information is provided to [redacted] and like search engines.  Once an account is cancelled [redacted] will continue to list the professional noting that they are no longer listed in the directory.  The notice of not listed in the directory is a statement of fact and does not imply any wrong doing on the part of the professional.  [redacted] notified us again that he did not care to find this statement when searching himself online - at that time the matter was escalated here and our team then went in and erased all information that would result in the No longer listed information appearing for the professional.  Again he was advised that this takes some time to clear through search engines.  It was at this time I received the first Revdex.com inquiry and responded with the account closed information that I had available.  When checking [redacted] at that time the No longer listed information was still appearing on [redacted] as he had only contacted us that week to have it removed.   In the most recent check [redacted] no longer appears in search associated with [redacted].  At this time I do not know what else can be done as the customer was provided the listing when requested, canceled when requested and erased from our system when requested.  I do not understand how any of that would harm [redacted] or any potential patient as again we do not rate our professionals nor do we report any wrong doing by a professional known to us or not.

Review: I cancelled my subscription with Psychology Today in April 2013 and requested a refund for the unused portion of my payment. I was told that I would be receiving a refund in the amount of $20.67. As of today, September **, 2013, I have not received my refund. When I called in April an inquired about the refund, I was told I should receive it by April [redacted]. I never received the refund and have since made numerous follow up calls to customer service. The dates of those calls are: June [redacted], June [redacted], July [redacted], July [redacted], July[redacted], and September [redacted]. On July [redacted], I was told the company had mailed me a refund but since I was claiming to not have received it they would do a trace on the check. I was told the process will take approximately 30 days. Once the trace confirmed that I did not cash the refund check, a second check will be issued to me. However, when I called on September [redacted], I was told the exact same thing about initiating a trace. I told them this was suppose to have been done in July. The customer service representative said they did not get any information back about the trace and will have to do the trace again before they could issue another check. I informed customer service that I will be filing this complaint with Revdex.com because this matter has been going on way too long.Desired Settlement: I want my refund of $20.67 without any more delays and excuses.

Business

Response:

The customer notified us that she wished to cancel the remainder of her subscription order in early April 2013. The request was processed and a refund check in the amount of $20.64 was cut and mailed 4/**/2013. Just before we received the Revdex.com notice I was contacted by our service provider to determine if the refund check dated 4/**/13 had been cashed at the bank. We had received confirmation that the check was indeed cashed and endorsed by the customer on 4/**/13. The customer has been sent a letter with a copy of the cancelled check sent on 9/**/13. I have copies of the cancelled check if needed.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for therapists directory on November **, 2013, then on November **, 2013, a charge of $2*.*5 was billed to my credit card, which is correct. However, on 12/*/13 another charge of $29.95 was billed incorrectly. I emailed psychologytoday on 12/*/13 and attempted to contact them via phone on 12/*/13 and 12/**/13. I left a message via phone on 12/*/13 and via email. I asked why I was being charged twice, if they clearly state on their website, "You'll get highly qualified leads from customers who have selected you. Best of all, you don't pay per lead. A flat fee of just $29.95 per month is all you have to pay - no matter how many leads you get!" I get charged again within 1.5 week or so. I asked for clarification in terms of details on how they calculated this (charge a month in advance, etc), and I did not get a clear response. The response was that they were not able to charge the card on the specific date on November 2013, which they did on Nov ** 2013 and I submitted to reactive profile on 11/**/13. Since I did not get a response via phone, I emailed again and asked the same things again. No clear answer. I said I was going to dispute the charge and today I get a response from PsychologyToday from [redacted] who said if I dared to dispute that charge, she would cancel my profile. Canceling my profile obviously affects my ability to receive phone calls from clients for services. I now have requested a full refund for the full amounts because they are not keeping up with their promise and billing practices, I pay them $2*.*5 for a month, they provide me my service. I removed my credit card information because I don't want them to charge me yet again for another charge.Desired Settlement: I want my refund amount of $5*.*8, they failed to outline their service and refund policy, they failed to provide me an itemized detailed explanation and billing practices, they took off my profile from online, technically they canceled my service and they charged me, and I deserve my money back.

Review: In April 2014 I unsubscribed from [redacted]'s web referral service.

Currently any active, past or potential client searching my name in the internet will be immediately confronted with the following notice: "[redacted] is no longer listed in [redacted]." As soon as I interrupted my subscription I received this email from the business in question: Dear [redacted],

This confirms your profile has been taken offline from [redacted]'s [redacted]. It can no longer be accessed by the public and there will be no future charges.

PS: We have begun the process of removing the links to your profile from search engines, like [redacted]. It takes as long to remove them as it does to add them (about 3 months). You will see links to your profile while the search engines process them out of their indexes.

If you are intending to reuse your profile, we recommend you repost it now.

As a consumer I decry the practice of pressured sales strategies. As a licensed psychotherapist in good standing, my duties are to protect the health of past and current patients. To the layman, this kind of advertisement practices leads to imply that I was removed due to issues with my practicing.

Finally, Essex Publications?[redacted] failed to comply with their own assertion as attested above that after three months my name was not going to be associated with that business after three months.Desired Settlement: Essex Publications will produce a document that guarantees that effective immediately, will stop implementing at the national level the advertising that misrepresents the pratcice of behavioral health providers like myself.

Sincerely,

Review: I moved to a new address & have updated my contact information on Sept. 2013. I have not received an issue since my relocation. When I missed the September 2013 issue, I contacted Psychology Today through their website. They stated that they will add a issue to to back end of my subscription to compensate. Since that time, however, I still have not received any futher issues regarding my subscription. I have contacted the agency three times with no feedback regarding the message. Please look into this situation for me. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like this magazine issues that I have missed to be sent to my address. I would like the agency to accomodate me for the magazine issues that I have missed.

Business

Response:

We are showing that the address change was received a week after our issue label files where run resulting in the missed issue as the Post Office does not forward magazines. Also due to the fact that we are a bi monthly publication with 6 issues per year one missed issue can result in a wait of up to 8 weeks before the next issue is received. We did hear from the customer and extended the record by 3 issues on 11/** and 12/* and I will also mail the most recent missed issue.

The customer is cc'd on this reply and can expect the Nov/Dec 2013 issue next week and the next issue Jan/Feb should be received by the end of December.

Thank you

Review: I signed up for a Psychology Today profile through a referral from colleague. The referral offered a 6 month free trial on the site. However, I was charged in both July and August ($30 each time). I have contacted customer service via email, but this was not resolved. The customer service rep admitted wrong doing and extended the free trial but did not respond about reimbursing me for the charges. I requested contact information for a supervisor, but did not receive a response. I have called the customer service number over a dozen times and left multiple messages, yet no one has returned my call.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for $59.90, which was charged after I signed up for a "free" trial.

Consumer

[redacted] responded on April **:

Dear [redacted],

I am in the process of researching this. There are indeed many life

coaches listed on our site. I'm going through them and checking their

credentials and schools. This will take some time unfortunately.

Of course I'd like to maximize revenue but I have to balance that with

the brand and trust that Psychology Today has. We are growing as a

company and we go through these growth vs consolidation phases. Now it

is time for some consolidation.

Like I also told [redacted], please give me a few days to go through this and

attempt to formalize some of it.

Neither one of us has heard anything further and this have been almost three weeks now. [redacted] has his website at [redacted] and, when you view it, you will see that he has training credentials as a Professional Life Coach, is studying to become a Certified Positive Psychology Coach, and has an international membership in ICF. He has more credentials than many coaches listed in the directory. Without any explanation or further response from [redacted], and with less qualified individuals being able to be listed in the directory, this is an unacceptable business practice, and I would like to know why whatever criteria are used, that there is a discrepancy here. The fact that he has attempted to be listed, and has not been accepted, is not only unjust, but speaks of something less than honorable. If there are not consistent business principles, ans this seems to be the case here, then they should be addressed. His request is reasonable, but the lack of response is intolerable.

I am asking you to inquire about this matter, to contact the business, as I seek an outcome that is based upon sound business principles, and not a denial without any good reason. Thank you for your attention to this situation.Desired Settlement: I am seeking for [redacted] to be included in the online directory of Psychology Today.

Consumer

Response:

The business has already responded and handled this for me.Thank you.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: On ** December 2013, I noticed a charge in the amount of $29.95 on my bank account listed as Psychology Today. I immediately called my bank, which confirmed that it came from Psychology Today and provided me with the phone number ###-###-#### as belonging to the company that made the charge. I have since called that number three times and left three voice mail messages (** December, ** December and ** December, 2013) and have received neither an answer on that number nor a return phone call in reference to my complaint of an unauthorized charge. A search of Psychology Today's website reveals an email address for making contact with the company. I have since sent two emails to [redacted] (** December ** December 2013) and have received no response. On ** December 2013, an additional charge of $0.24 appeared on my account as an International Convenience Fee. My bank informed me that this fee is connected with the Psychology Today transaction and indicates that the transaction was processed internationally. I have filed a dispute claim with my bank as I did not authorize the transaction and want a full refund of my money as well as resolution of this problem with Psychology Today.Desired Settlement: I would like the charges ($29.95 and $0.24) refunded to me by Psychology Today and no additional charges to be made against my bank account.

Business

Response:

We have located this customer in our online directory service which is billed automatically to the credit card they provide when signing up for the service. The charge is monthly in the Amount of $29.95 and we use an international credit card processer that in some cases depending on the card holders bank will have an additional charge. We are able to give a credit amount to offset the additional charge.

We have now cancelled the account and issued a refund and the customer has been notified of this action.

Thank you.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved, pension receipt of the credit to my bank account.

Sincerely,

Review: I had an account with Psychology Today. They placed me in collections, I paid and requested in written notice for them to stop sending me the magazines. They continued to send me magazines and notices to renew subscriptions. I wrote them by email a second time making it clear I did not want any magazines, subscription renewal letters, etc. Sussex Publishers Inc. replied by email informing I will remain on the subscription list. Today I get another letter for subscription renewal after I have already requested several times for them to stop contacting me in any way.Desired Settlement: Stop contacting me by mail, phone, e-mail, or any other method. I do not want your magazine or any other offers. This is harassment.

Business

Response:

In reviewing the account I see that due to the payment for the collection notice the subscription was re-instated and has a current expiration with the Sep/Oct 2014 issue. I also see the note to not promote the name to third party mailers. At the time the payment was made it was for future service resulting in the continuation of magazines being mailed. The customer will receive the Jul/Aug issue as I am not able to stop it at this time.

I will get the account canceled and the customer should hear nothing further from us beyond the final issue and any remaining renewal effort that may already be in production.
