Wish I can give them zero star
Sutter health will find way to double charges/fraudulently bills the same service twice to the insurance company then turn around and collect double copayments from the patient. Not only there is a disconnect between the service provided and the billing code, they purposely ignore the patients disputes and continuously over charges the patients and the insurance company.

Watch out! Thief at Palo Alto Foundation in Mountain View, CA
I went to Palo Alto Foundation in Mountain View, CA for MRI and they stole my diamond necklace. It’s valuable necklace. I found out when I got home, so I called the manager and reported it. She tried to cover up for her employee, so she didn’t do anything about it. If anyone knows, what should I do? Please reach out to me at [email protected]. Thanks in advance!
Be careful people, leave your value stuffs at home when you go to the hospital.

Zero Star for Sutter health Mountain View
My annual physical routing checkup in Sutter Health Mountain View Center
Other than normal routing check, they order some additional service and lab testing without my knowledge.
Also they billed my insurance with incorrect code and caused uncovered big balance. Sutter Health billed me for those unnecessary services and even their wrong code caused a big uncovered balance.
I have called and messaged them many times and requested bill review But they insist they were nothing wrong and keep bill me.
They even not reply to BBB (Better Business Bureau California) Questioning.
Zero Star for Sutter health Mountain View

Time to quit Sutter Health
Called 25 drs. on their online site lokking for an internal medicine doctor. Their site is not up to date, as all declined to take a new patient. One doctor took a day to review my medical history and then declined me. Today, 2 others said they would take me but the retainer fees were $4-10 thousands dollars annually cuz they dont take insurance for office visitsj! Well well well, welcome to the top 25% of the rich. Now doctors can pick and choose who they want based on history and money? I pay $400 a month for a PPO and still could not get a doctor.
Time to boot out of this system.

Sutter Health Mountain View Medical Center
On Feb. 2021, I went to Sutter Health Mountain View Center for my annual physical routing checkup. It is preventive routing service covered by my health insurance.
During my visit, I showed them my annual physical checkup history from my previous service provider. But they didn't follow-up.
Other than normal routing check, they order some additional service and lab testing.
for example, RUBEOLA (MEASLES), MUMPS, RUBELLA ANTIBODY IGG.
Also they billed my insurance with incorrect code other than a preventive service code.
For example, vitamin D testing. My insurance clearly states it should be covered for annual routing checkup.
Sutter Health billed me $777 after my insurance payment for those unnecessary services and even their wrong code caused unpaid balance.
I have called and messaged them many times and requested bill review since I received their first bill. But their billing department insist they were nothing wrong and keep bill me.

Don't waste your time
We switched last year from Kaiser to Sutter Health Plus. We originally switched because we weren't happy with the service we were getting with Kaiser. The PCP Sutter Health Plus assigned us to never answers their phone and never calls back. You literally have to drive to his office in person to schedule appointments. So I switched to a new PCP who is just as terrible in Roseville. Sutter has no problem taking my money ($2,230 /mo.), but I can't even get a half decent dr. I made a terrible decision by switching to this provider. If I could give a zero star rating I would. I will be looking elsewhere come renewal time.

My Sutter Davis primary care doctor, Dr. Arfan Din, falsely imprisoned in an exam room, stood with his back against the door, and forced me to sign a form he had written consenting to an elective medical procedure I didn't want to have. I felt violated as a patient and as women. When I posted about his inappropriate behavior on social media, Dr. Din hired an attorney and threatened me. I am a cancer patient. Dr. Din couldn't care less about the stress and the financial burden this situation has caused me. He is only concerned for his own reputation.

I went for an annual physical preventive checkup in PAMF which is covered by my insurance. PAMF also charged me for an additional doctor visit as my doctor reviewed my Abnormal results of liver function studies to see any need for further action. This additional charge happens this year and I think Sutter is cheating on insurance or charging the insurance more by splitting the physical visit into two charge items. Any how, what is the point of doing annual physical checkup if patient previous history should not be reviewed by doctor.

Sutter coast, sutter health aka slaughter coast or slaughter house where they care more about ripping you off than helping someone.
Sutter auburn faith
I tried dealing with a p.a here for 2hrs tried asking politely to see a dr and for her to leave me alone because she would not listen. Finally cussed and got ruder. 40m later she tells me a dr is seeing critical patients first and unknown when he will get to you.

I mean seriously my pain level is severe and you tell me to go see a dr and the e.r doesnt help just put a bandaid on it till you get to a dr.

Yes she told me that.
Do not trust sutter or any p.a.

The sutter I was at is able to be reached @ 5308884500

This is what the contract say's"Total est due is $xyz, this estimate does not include Surgeon, anesthesiologist, radiologist, pathologist, pre-operative testing, pathology, laboratory or any other services that may be rendered. These will be billed separately by these providers."

When I ask what the cost of any of these other "services were" all I got was "I cant answer that" "I not responsible for that" "that's not our or my department" " call your insurance"... even though they couldn't tell me what services that would be used to call and ask my insurance.

I went in for another issue for my wrist and my doctor offer me a wrist band/support whatever. I have ten of 15 of these things laying around. When I got the bill.. $275 for a $15.00 wrist band. This is criminal.

Plus the fact that illegals get free medical when I'm charged outrageous prices. I hate this hospital and California.

The Brain Center has poor bedside manner. They do not introduce themselves properly, nor do they explain to the patient why he/she is there for testing. Does not go over the forms the patient was told to complete and bring in during the testing. Does not go over the test if they deem the patient failed a 10 minute question session. The Director returns to the patient and does not inform nor explain anything to the patient before pushing a button for him to take driving test again. They are very cold, curt, and they do not listen.

The Worst. AVOID or it will cost you 4X more than evrerywhere else! Palo Alto Medical Foundation was taken over by Sutter Health long ago and Sutter the nefarious corp, is only interested in screwing you. They make arbitrary policies like if an insurance doesn't pay, YOU WILL have to pay an outrageous sum MORE than any other service, and if you try to fight the completely unreasonable charges in comparison to ANYONE, they will send it to collections. YOU WILL HAVE NO RECOURSE. Choose ANYONE ELSE, or at your peril!

Negative star rating:

Dr. Robert Altman OBGYN at the Modesto office sexually assaulted/molested me. Sutter Health has done nothing to resolve this issue. He is still practicing, and they do not take these issues seriously. They sweep them under the rug, and patients continue to suffer. it's time for something to change. Sutter Health, do what's right for the patients and their safety, not your pocketbook.

I went to Sutter Health in Yuba city to have filler injections around my mouth on May 1st. The top lip costing $650 was fine except it left bumps in the corner of each side of my mouth and enlarges temporarily when I drink something hot. The tube of filler $550 injected in my bottom lip did nothing. Now I look like I have an overbite. Three days after my appointment I went back to show Linda and tell her my concerns. She informed me that they were still swollen. Now and even then I looked like I had an overbite since my top lip was so much bigger. I could have gone many other places but felt Sutter Health would do a better job even knowing I would be paying a higher price. I was very wrong. Making many calls and being referred all over the place I am now upset as well as disappointed. I truly feel the one tube was defective or Linda inserted it wrong and that I should have that portion refunded. I would never refer or give a good review for the work and attitude.

I am thoroughly disappointment with the billing involvement we have had with Sutter Physician Group. My mother traveled to California for a visit and ended up in ICU in full heart failure (at El Camino). She is a nursing home resident and Medicaid recipient in her home state. Once we received the final bills from El Camino and Sutter Physician Group, we applied for charity assistance as all of her income goes toward her care at the nursing home. (other than $40/month). El Camino approved her charity at 100%; Sutter Physician Group, on the other hand, denied her stating she was over income. We appealed the denial and received no response, rather just simply sent to collections. While the bill is minimal in the scheme of things, there is the principal here and the reality that she simply does not have the income to manage a debt like this. The communication has been poor (at best) and their ability to review cases on an individual basis are non-existent. I would be inclined to say that if there were future travels to California and medical attention was required (on an emergency basis) stay away from Sutter Physician Services.

In general, I love Sutter Health. My PCP is absolutely fabulous and I wouldn't trade her for anything!
I had a colonoscopy around 10 years ago that could not be completed because there was a point at which my intestines were too jumbled up. On Feb 5th, 2018, I had another colonoscopy. The Dr., being aware (I assume) of the jumble of intestines, just pushed through the jumble and damaged my spleen, causing massive internal bleeding. In the recovery room, I told him that it really hurt and, being the cocky, arrogant person he is and without even turning around, he dismissed my complaint and said it was just gas and to do a 'doggy down' position to relieve the pain.
At home, the pain was so severe that my husband took me to the emergency department at a local hospital where I was immediately assigned a bed in the ICU.
The consequences are tremendous medical bills and more testing to see why I still have pain. With each return visit, I have to make up time at work because I do not have any more paid time off.
No one from Sutter has contacted me to ask what happened or if I was satisfied with the outcome. Which is confounding because I get questionnaires for office visits, but never for procedures.
Little do you know Sutter - this particular Dr is a cocky, arrogant person that will continue being a liability with Sutter because you don't do any follow-up.
In conclusion, I am adding up all the expense and time this has caused me. I will ask Sutter to do the right thing and reimburse me for the time and expense. If that is ignored, I will retain a lawyer and the damages will increase significantly.

Review: I have been making monthly payments on my account since I received service at Sutter General Hospital, however my account was refereed to a collection agency. Sutter Medical Foundation did not contact me my mail or phone before referring my account to collection to discuss my account status. I found out that my account was in collection when I logged in to make a payment and it showed that I had a zero balance. This prompted me to email customer service which in turn informed me that my account had been referred to a collection agency. A copy of the conversation follows:Dear [redacted],Thank you for using My Health Online to contact us about your account. Review: I was charged $491 for a flu shot!!!! I called Sutter Health to get a flu shot October 2013. They said I would need to have a new patient visit with a doctor before getting a flu shot. I made appointment on November 13, 2013 and visited with the doctor had an unrequested exam and received a flu shot at the end of the visit. I was billed $491.00 for a flu shot and new doctor visit and unrequested exam. I called to discuss the gross over charge with Sutter Health, and they said the charge was correct. I indicated that I would be happy to pay $20 per month or a reduced reasonable lump sum of 25-50%. They said there is no negotiation. I told them I cannot, in good conscience, continue to bring my 5 family members to a medical organization that grossly overcharges patients. I know I was grossly overcharged because I made an appointment to see another doctor at [redacted] for a new doctor visit and physical exam on 2/24/14, and was only charged $130. Sutter Health just lost 5 new patients on 4-28-14 because "policy" is more important than "patients". I do not recommend Sutter Health, unless you have plenty of money to spare.Desired Settlement: Pay a lump sum at a reasonble rate of 25-50% of the $491 overcharge for a new patient visit and flu shot.

Business

Response:

To Revdex.com- feel free to reach me via phone as needed On 11/13/13, patient was seen as a new patient with provider [redacted] In addition to receiving a flu shot, patient also obtained a referral to physical therapy for back pain, 4 lab tests were ordered, and a prescription was given for the back pain. Also, this charge was processed according to the insurance plan benefits, as the $491.00 was applied to patient deductible. Unfortunately, no changes warranted as the services provided are consistent with how the services were billed. New patient visits have a higher cost, as the visit goes into more detail as the patient's past medical history is discussed and addressed/managed, and more time is spent with the provider.
