Included saw cut asphalt remove tree roots haul awaythis was in the middle of the driveway.Pave and patch back in seal coat driveway total sq ft1752.The cost to remove and replace the entire driveway andadd root guard would run $10,plus tax.I would be more than happy to do the job for $8512plus taxBrand new driveway root guard installed tohelp preventcracking in drivewayThis is no admission that SutterPaving is a fault just a good jester to the customer.Leonard S*Sutter Paving, Inc

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Since Mr. S[redacted] previously responded to me that he had ‘been out to look’ and had seen no cracking, I fail to see how he can now know what has the caused the cracks to appear. As I have no indication that he has come out to look again.
At no point did Don, the Sutter representative who provided the scope of work and estimate, make any suggestion or indication that a root guard was recommended in this situation.  I would have certainly considered that information in my decision making process.  The only suggestion Don had was to also seal coat the driveway to give it a uniform appearance
There are 2 areas of cracking
The smaller area is literally in the center of the patch, 36 inches from the garden edge and 36 inches from the edge of the patch and the existing driveway, there are no other cracks around it.  I cannot see how a tree root could damage an area that no tree roots exist in.
The larger area which does begin at the edge of the re-paving, extends 17 inches from that edge
The trees near the driveway are cedar, I consulted my arborist who indicated that although cedar roots are quick growing in the warm season, the roots would not be strong enough to crack asphalt within the first 2 growing seasons.
Again I bring back to Mr. S[redacted]’s attention that their website which indicates a one year warranty all work, it does not say ‘small jobs’ not covered
I am not asking for the entire driveway to be re-paved, it does not need repaving, all I want is that the cracks that have formed within the repaired area be resolved – perhaps by filling them and re-compacting the area Sincerely,[redacted]
