Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:they told me I was approved hince giving me a signed contract and taking a down payment which has not been returnedThis is a scam called yo yo financing which is a did honest practice, practices by not all but dishonest dealershipsI was was verbally told I am approved of financing this company is without excuseAccording to management they do this all the time I would like my deposit returned ,they claim they have no record of .if I was not approved for financing I should not have been given a signed contract or the vehicle itself until financing was secure, this causes great confusion and problemsThis company refuses to return my cash deposit of $ Sincerely, Sherita [redacted]

BEWARE FROM THIS DEALER...They don't even deserve one starI had an appointment to see a [redacted] I took my sister (she was buying the car) to see the carOn the way to the dealer I received a email from the saleswoman reminding me to have my sister bring her pay stub etc for financing and how she was looking forward to meeting usThis was literally on our way to the dealer, I actually opened the email when I parked the car in their lotWe go inside and some guy sat us by his desk and told us I'll be helping you because the lady you were talking to is our internet sales managerHe goes walks around for mins and is talking to someone and then he comes back and informs us the car that we had an appointment to see was sold last nightI told him we just got an email on the way here and why wernt we told that it was sold we wouldn't have come and wasted our timeHe didn't offer any apology didn't say a word and we just walked outIt's either a bait and switch or they did sell the carI don't know which reason is worse, if they did sell it last night that means this "ford megastore" is unorganized and their managers should be fired because they hire incompetant employees that don't update the system or keep record of what's sold

It is Sutton Ford's policy that every customer who purchases a vehicle requiring financing must sign an "Agreement to Deliver Vehicle Pending Financing Approval." Ms. [redacted] signed this document and due to her credit situation we were unable to acquire financing for her vehicle. As stated previously, the banks rejected our request for financing because of Ms. [redacted] credit. That is no fault of Sutton Ford. The contract is null and void if the company is unable to secure financing. This stipulation is clearly stated in the Agreement mentioned above and there is a copy signed by Ms. [redacted] in the deal.Sutton Ford never keeps customers deposits!!! If a deal falls apart all deposits are promptly refunded. Ms. [redacted] Contract and Buyer's Order indicate No Money was given. The gentleman who was negotiating the purchase with Ms. [redacted] clearly stated, since Ms. [redacted] credit was "excellent" there was no need to put any money down. All deposits are receipted by the cashier and customer given a copy of receipt and a copy placed in the deal. I checked with the cashier for the entire month of January 2017, and no money was received from customer 386762, Sherita [redacted] . There was also no receipt found in Ms. [redacted] deal. If Ms. [redacted] can produce a valid Sutton Ford receipt, I will review and process.Thank you!

I began communicating with Ms [redacted] on February 18, 2015, through the Attorney General's office regarding a warranty sold to her for coverage on her Mercedes BenzDuring my last communication in July 2015, I again informed Ms [redacted] that Sutton Ford Lincoln sold her the best warranty we could sell as a Non Mercedes Dealer and explained the warranty began when the vehicle was put into operation by the Manufacturer Ms [redacted] did not accept my explanation and informed me she was not finished with this matter and would utilize all options including the media Ms [redacted] keeps comparing the warranty Sutton Ford sld to her to the warranty Mercedes Benz could have sold her, and I keep explaining to her that only Mercedes Benz can sell the warranty she referred to I am sorry Ms [redacted] refuses to accept our explanation

I purchased a vehicle years ago from Suttonit is a [redacted] Sutton is a Ford dealerI purchased the extended warranty, $The car just stopped workingLeft my daughter on the side of the roadI don't know if the extended warranty is good at a [redacted] dealer Its the only dealer near the break downIt was 3pm Saturday afternoonI called Sutton Ford three times to see if I could take it to the [redacted] dealerI was told "the warranty people are busy , they will call you backNever did

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The decision to refund half of the purchase price defies reason and logicTo charge me better than percent for an unused service is extreme and insensitive to the arguments presentedThe basis as to how this figure was arrived at has not been providedIt may be reasonable, but without an explanation, who knows?
The dealership failed to comment on their earlier comment that we failed to ask for a cancellation within daysYet we did ask for a cancellationWe were ignored
The dealership failed to provide an explanation as to why I must return the vehicle to Sutton Ford, approximately miles from *** *** and not be compensated for suchThis is an inconvenience and an expensive propositionWhy am I solely responsible for locating a dealership who would be an *** *** vendor, and assume responsibility for service when said dealership received absolutely no competition?
The finance officer alleged that Auto Butler was a paint treatment that prevented and insured against paint chipsWe both know this is not trueBut a refund would permit me to secure a paint treatment which does protect against chips
My arguments for a full return of the $are soundAn offer of $has no logical construction basis
Good sense would have us reach a logical negotiated settlementAgain, I am merely interested in a fair and equitable settlement based on what is just for all parties
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/08/07) */
Mr*** strongly believe he is entitled to a refund of $399.00, therefore we are going to mail a check in that amount to an address he submitted to us
Thank you!

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I do believe that my new car that I purchased from Sutton Ford that was repainted probably sustained allot more damage than they are willing to admit and since the laws governing repairs on new vehicles prior to their sale by manufacturers and dealers are designed for their good and not the good of the consumer I am definitely not accepting the offer to give me a $125-$bumper repaint for the following reasons: Damage to bumpers are not considered damage if replaced with the manufacturer's original equipment Therefore however much damage my new car sustained prior to my purchasing it by law legally they do not have to disclose and by their own admission of my car having too much negative depreciation I can only see that to be because of previous damage and repair its likely that it sustained an amount to which they don't even want it back I now have a new vehicle with substantial market value depreciation which is barely months old So in knowing this and not receiving adequate compensation for this ruthless act of legal consumer fraud I understand that my only recourse is to notify as many of the American people as possible who undoubtedly don't know that dealers and manufacturers are legally selling them damaged and repaired vehicles The American Public should know what Sutton Ford and many other dealers are doingSutton Ford sold me damaged goods for the price as newTherefore it is my goal to let everyone know
Sincerely,

For Credit told me that Sutton Ford never sent the money until I escalated the issueAnd Sutton Ford refused to deal with me directly when I inquiredThey are failing to be truthfulI will be satisfied only when they take full accountability for their error in writing and facilitate my refund which is due to me since they failed to act according to a contract
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/12/02) */
Sutton Ford told Ford Credit to debit our account to pay off Mr***'s leaseIf this was done in a more timely manner Mr*** may not have had an issue, and for this we apologize
Mr*** is requesting Sutton Ford facilitate his refund, but we do not have any authority in this area and the refund is coming directly from Ford Credit, not Sutton Ford

Ms. Sherita [redacted] purchased a 2013 Ford Escape on January 25, 2017.  When Sutton Ford checked her credit rating, her score was acceptable and she was given the vehicle on the spot pending securing financing for the purchase.  Ms. [redacted] signed an "Agreement to Deliver Vehicle Pending...

Financing Approval."  If the dealership is unable to obtain financing for the vehicle, then the dealership will notify the client they must immediately return the vehicle.Sutton Ford does not finance in-house, therefore we must seek financing from banks and other lending institutions.  We made every effort to obtain financing for Ms. [redacted], but each bank turned her down.  We called the banks asking why we were being denied financing when our client had an acceptable credit score.  We were told Sutton Ford has limited access to credit information hence the reason we were being declined by each bank.  We were able to secure financing from one lender, but they stipulated the client make a large down payment.  Mw. [redacted] did not accept this stipulation and the deal fell apart.Sutton Ford is in the business of selling vehicles, and never wants to return a vehicle to inventory, but this is only done when we are absolutely unable to obtain financing for a client. We apologize for any inconvenience Ms. [redacted] may have experienced, but as stated above, due to her credit situation, we were unable to secure financing and had no choice but to ask her to return the vehicle.Thank you!

We checked his...

warranty purchased from [redacted] and was told the repair was not covered. We repaired the vehicle and Mr. [redacted] paid the charges which, as stated previously, he signed authorization for this cost and repair.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/07/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I was not informed clearly of the charges of diagnostic/repairs until AFTER they had been performed, WITHOUT my permission.
The only thing they stated when I signed the paper from the first step was "This is so we can look at your vehicle; we will call you and inform you what we've found and with further details." They had performed the repair without my "ok" and then hit me with the bill.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/07/14) */
At Sutton Ford Lincoln our customers pay for the Technicians to diagnose (check out, look at, determine what's wrong, etc.) and repair their vehicles. At the time of service write-up Mr. [redacted] signed a work order indicating he would pay $119.00 for the Technicians to determine what's wrong with his vehicle.(Diagnose) After the problem was diagnosed, we replaced the part At NO ADDITIONAL COST to Mr. [redacted] He only paid the original diagnostic fee of $119.00 which he gave us signed authorization to do.
I am sorry Mr. Anderson is unhappy with the outcome of his service visit, but he is welcome to return to the dealership to inspect the work order he signed giving us authorization to diagnose his vehicle at a cost of $119.00

Ms. [redacted] has purchased or has been responsible for four vehicle purchases at Sutton Ford.  She is a Highly Valued Customer and we are anxious to restore her confidence in Sutton Ford, and a good relationship.  On Saturday April 8, 2017, Ms. [redacted] came into the dealership and met...

with the General Manager Randy [redacted] and General Sales Manager Mike [redacted]  She told them, which was confirmed by Randy [redacted], that the bumper of her vehicle had been repainted.  She was explained that we have no record of a repaint in our files, and the bumper may have been re-painted prior to being delivered to dealership by Ford (the factory).  Cost of a bumper repaint is $125 - $200 far below the guidelines required for a damage disclosure.  She has requested the following compensation for non-disclosure:     1.  $5,000.00 cash     2.  Exchange vehicle for a 2017 for the same payment     3.  Free sunroof and spoilerI informed Ms. [redacted] none of those options are agreeable, but I would be willing to:  1) Install a free spoiler or 2) Give her $200 cash customer goodwill.Again, Ms. [redacted] is a Highly Valued Customer and we pray we can regain her trust and business.Sincerely,[redacted] President

I began communicating with Ms. [redacted] on February 18, 2015, through the Attorney General's office regarding a warranty sold to her for coverage on her 2007 Mercedes Benz. During my last communication in July 2015, I again informed Ms. [redacted] that Sutton Ford Lincoln sold her the best...

warranty we could sell as a Non Mercedes Dealer and explained the warranty began when the vehicle was put into operation by the Manufacturer.  Ms. [redacted] did not accept my explanation and informed me she was not finished with this matter and would utilize all options including the media.  Ms. [redacted] keeps comparing the warranty Sutton Ford sld to her to the warranty Mercedes Benz could have sold her, and I keep explaining to her that only Mercedes Benz can sell the warranty she referred to.  I am sorry Ms. [redacted] refuses to accept our explanation.

This vehicle put through a used vehicle inspection prior to being sold and passed the inspection.

"As Is." In conjunction with those two forms, [redacted] signed a "We Owe" stating, "Sold As Is And Shown".  [redacted] was fully aware of what he was purchasing and signed documents indicating such.  Since [redacted]s a customer, Sutton Ford is willing to assist him in purchasing a used engine for his vehicle.
