I high Do Not recommend this company for your moving. They are unprofessional, breach contracts, and damage your furniture. Moving is already a high stress process and this company only adds to this stressful situation. They left a portion of my furniture at my sold house requiring me to find other means to move this furniture and be penalized at settlement despite repeated inventory of all belongings to be moved. Employees also complain while moving my things and bad mouthed their employer. Not a company you want moving your precious belongings that you have worked hard to obtain. They also are demeaning to front line workers (I'm am one of them) in this time of the COVID pandemic. I give them 5 negative star rating!

They showed up 4 hours late. Things were broken and over $3000 of things are missing. Was charged 3 hours moving and 1 hour and 45 min. They arrived at 3:04 and left at 5:36. Travel should have taken 1 hour. I guess the extra 45 min to go through my stuff. The one guy kept getting in my face about tip. He wanted $50 per man. Called the company about breakage and the if and they still have not responded. DON'T HIRE THIS COMPANY.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. The most unprofessional company ever. Showed up and left WITHOUT DOING THE JOB! I asm now completely in a lurch!!!!!!!!

This company is very unprofessional, rude and don’t complete the work they were commissioned for . I would like to have corporate office to contact me as soon as possible . .

My move was never completed. I was given a morning window of 9am to 12pm. Nobody came during that time and no update regarding status was provided. I called the office 3 times between the hours of 12pm-1pm and was told the office could not get in touch with the movers. When questioned how many moves were ahead of me I was told just one. I inquired what time that move began and was told they did not know. After another hour of waiting, I tried the office again multiple times around the 2pm hour, including left a detailed voicemail. Nobody returned my call; the office closed for the day despite knowing I was out of the loop. Nobody called to check in to see if the movers had contacted me. By 3pm, I finally got a call from the movers who said they had been double booked. I asked that they have the manager call me to discuss a discount for my time wasted and for the office's mistake for double booking and failing to inform me. I have not yet received that call despite calling the office on Sunday and Monday following the missed move.

For them to think it is acceptable to show up over 3 hours late for a move presumed to be first thing in the morning is unacceptable (even more, I received no notice or update of the status of my movers throughout the entire morning and early afternoon, despite numerous attempts on behalf of myself to make contact). To be told that I shouldn't have anything else to do that day or that my time isn't valuable is atrocious. To not be offered a reasonable accommodation or discount for my time wasted is horrible. To be told a manager will call me Sunday morning and to still be waiting 48 hours after my move was supposed to take place, ridiculous. Then to be told the man I spoke to on the phone on Saturday who claimed to be my mover and is named Jerry (who was the only calm and professional one I dealt with) doesn't work for the company, frightening. How then did he get my phone number if them claim he doesn't work for SVJ? Or why would he find it appropriate to use a fake name?

I tried to support a local company. My move was stressful enough and I believed you all would help relieve some of the burden. They did anything but that.

I hired this company to do a move for me and gave them a deposit.
They failed to show on the last day I was allowed in the home and they refused to return the deposit.. Don't give them a deposit, you will be sorry when they don't show up. I would not give them any star rating if it was permitted by this site.

Worst moving experience of my life. Overcharged by nearly $2000. Company has refused to furnish breakdown of hours, fees. Doubled billed on hours. Total shake down as they have your belongings held hostage. Tipped their crew $100 each in hopes they would not destroy my furniture. Boxes that were marked extremely fragile and bubble wrapped, etc. boxes were crushed. Very expensive highboy haditem crushed against it actually bending drawer keys flat against locks. Gold rimmed china plates smashed; tripledresser bottom actually ripped off; desk that had glass insert on top, totally missing. I could go on and on. Disgusting business practices. I will be suing them in civil court. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE DEATBEATS.

Very, Very disappointing.

I have moved a few times, and have had several experiences with various moving companies, all of which have been positive. I've never in my life posted a negative review. SVJ is the sad exception. Their movers will purposely neglect and damage your property, shake you down for a giant tip at the end and guilt trip you into paying it. When you're forced to speak to their management about the damage they will cause to your property, they will dismiss you, ignore you, even mock you, and then hang up on you.

The SVJ movers removed a plastic cover that was protecting my mattress without asking, and caused it to become completely dirty. After this, the movers demanded I pay a 40% tip!!! They actually refused a standard 20% tip offer, and so drove the cost of the move up significantly. When I called the management to request help in paying for the damages to my property, they constantly brushed me off and gave me a run-around. I called at least a dozen times, and each time they had their canned response, saying they needed to speak to their manager, and that he was out of the office. After a few calls they began to openly mock me on the phone.

There are a lot of movers, some cheaper than others. But any cost saving you may think you will have with this company will be completely offset once experience their movers bullying you into paying an exorbitant tip, and once you see the damage they will cause your property.

Arranged a move for my mother who was downsizing after 70 years in her home.
On-line estimate was helpful in giving me an estimate, especially since I was completing it for someone else.
Four movers were assigned. They arrived on time. They were efficient and courteous.
They were considerate, asking where she'd like they to place her things in her new home.
Very pleased with their service, They were instrumental in making this move less stressful.

Excellence in the field at its best, customer service over the top. I was blown away by the service and employees of
this company!

SVJ contacted me from my online inquiry for 2 men and a truck, knowing full well that they would only offer 3 men and a truck. They grossly overestimated the number of men needed for a few items and underestimated the amount of time it will take to transport the goods.
