Review: My girlfriend and I went to view an apartment for rent on 4/23/15. Prior to making an appt we received confirmation from two staff members ([redacted] that this unit was still available, in the process of being cleaned & was a 6 month lease. We turned in the application on 4/28/15, received the call of approval on 4/29/15 and set an appt to sign the lease, exchange deposit & 1st month rent for the keys on 4/30/15 as the General Mgr [redacted] stated we could move in that day. Prior to arriving to the appt we called to confirm we were on our way and [redacted] stated 3 others were interested & first to bring the money got the apt. We were the first to arrive to his office with the money & a signed lease. We questioned the terms of the lease as we were told it was 6 month & the lease stated 1 yr. He refused to anything less than 1 yr. My girlfriend & I stepped outside to discuss this matter. We were followed by [redacted] out the door as he told us he needed a minute. He proceeded to the on site mgrs unit. About 10 minutes later he came down & said sorry we do not do 6 month leases, I am going to give this unit to this guy right here (gentleman who had been waiting on the sidewalk since after we arrived). [redacted] proceeded to tell him he still needed to fill out an application even though we had been approved, promised the unit, had money & lease in hand.Desired Settlement: Please see below for an itemized list of money/time spent and lost.- Paid $70 total ($35/person) for an application fee- Lost 3 hours of work $52.50 ($17.50/hr)- Gas 75 miles total between 2 people $17 (15 miles/ gallon @ $3.40/gallon)
