the contract on April 4, 2013 and passed final Inspection by the City on July 2 2013. I have sent you copies of the documents for your verification.The statement that we did improper work or work outside of our legal classification is simply false.The primary issue of complaint seems to be the repair to the roof. Please recognize that this work was performed almost 2 years ago. In the interim, [redacted] (our construction manager) had to resign over a year ago because of Cancer and is not available for refreshing our memories. He did, in fact, make an agreement to split a $1500.00 repair bill that appears to be in contention. Note this agreement was made after completion of the project so that time is no longer a factor. Mr and Mrs [redacted] agreed to that addendum at the time and now- almost two years later- want to retract it.I respectively submit that this is not a fair or legitimate complaint.

Review: My husband and I do not make a practice of complaining or trashing businesses. We feel that we have an obligation to warn other consumers about the practices of Swan Solar. This company has no customer service they did not show up for scheduled appointments on multiple occasions, were uncommunicative about project status, broke multiple assurances made in the initial sales process, attempted to complete unpermitted work, attempted to complete work they were not licensed for, misrepresented business practices, exceeded timeline by months, and cost us additional money by causing damage to our home that they refused to cover. This company was not pleasant to work with, we would advise other consumers to think twice before using them. Both my husband and I regret working with this company.On July 25, we sent an email stating that the roofing repair to cover damage caused by Swan Solar was scheduled for July 26. My husband contacted [redacted] who advised he had no idea we were waiting for a response from Swan Solar and that he assumed Swan Solar would complete the roofing repair. After heated back and forth about the repair and the fault of Swan Solar for their poor planning which resulted in damage, [redacted] reluctantly agreed to pay for half of the cost. I contacted [redacted] and got into another heated discussion with him. He stated that he felt the roof was existing at the time of the installation of his project, and working with the roofer was providing an accommodation to us. I let him know that mistakes happen and that we just wanted the roof repaired to new condition by a licensed roofer. [redacted] stated they would not cover the cost of the repair, even after admitting that his company did not plan properly. He stated we were being difficult. It was apparent [redacted] had these types of conversations with customers in the past. We felt bullied into agreeing to the offer to cover half of the repairs, otherwise we would have to spend months fighting them in small claims court for $750.
