I had a frustrating experience today that made my blood boilI went to the Apple Athletic Club because on the very top of its 'memberships' page, it boasts free memberships to spouses of deployed service membersMy meeting got off to a bad start when the 'lovely' woman helping me looked at Kent's orders and said, "Oh, he's a musician? I don't think that job qualify" WHAT?! I informed her that her statement was condescending and offensiveShe goes off to check with her manager who comes back to inform me that in order for his deployment to 'count', it needed to be in a combat zoneApparently, he isn't deployed enoughTo someone who is two months into a long separation, this was an emotionally charged slap in the faceWe are no less 'military' than anyone elseGo ahead, tell me that my family is sacrificing less, I dare you
I am generally a reasonable person, but the hypocrisy of this policy leaves me fumingTo give you some reference, Idaho Falls is a small town that is about three hours from the nearest military installationThe military presence here is basically nonexistent, so you know that they aren't handing out very many free memberships ESPECIALLY now that they've narrowed down which deployments countThe thing that kills me the most is their 'membership' pageLook how their free military memberships are advertised at the very topIt's all basically lip service aimed at making themselves look goodAt least be honest with the stipulations, or are you worried people will see how half-hearted and self promoting your support actually is

While this club has decent amenities it is a complete and total rip off when it comes to ending your contract They make is so vague and difficult to end them that it borders on illegal I will be contacting the Attorney Generals office to ask if they can look into their business practices In no way, shape or form can I recommend this club for any reasonUnless of course you want to throw your money away and be treated like a low-life because you do not want to renew

As a 60+ senior living below the poverty line, I was excited to have the opportunity to "work off" a membership at Apple Athletic ClubHowever, when I had to move from the state a few months later, I was informed that my contract required me to pay off the $600+ membershipAfter contacting Idaho Dept of Labor, they informed me that the contract was not legally binding since there was no exchange of moneyTherefore I was not required to pay the money they have demanded and which I have been paying off in installmentsI don't know if they will be honorable and refund my money, but I did want to warn anyone thinking of entering this contract themselves

I was contacted this morning by an employee from Apple Athletic Club The woman told me that I had a balance of $ I told her that I did not have a balance on the aforementioned account After trying to explain to her what had happened with this account, she asked if I would hold and she would talk to her supervisor The supervisor came on the line and told me I had a balance I told her I did not She said I did and wanted to know if my address was She just kept repeating that she would send me an invoice I told her I did NOT have a balance and that I had no intention of paying what they were saying I owed, as this was not what I had discussed with AngelaThey are saying that I owe for March and April of the year I turned I tried to explain to her that when I turned Angela told me I could stop membership and if I was interested, check with my insurance company to see if they paid for the Silver & Fit Program I did, and they did pay so husband and I cont

I have been a member since and have loved going there until I became pregnantThere are no prenatal classes offered(You can go to regular classes and get singled out as the pregnant one and slow the class down) When I talked to a couple of the managers they seemed to dismiss my concerns and told me I needed a doctor's note if I wanted to my contract on hold for my pregnancyThe managers made me feel so embarrassed and lazy that I haven't been back despite being trapped in a contract that I am not currently usingI am at the point once my contract is finished I will not be returning
