June 10, 2015To Whom It May Concern:Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this matterCoincedentally, we received confirmation that [redacted] will be refunding Sweet Freedom Bakery for the cake that [redacted] ordered in MayWe have already contacted [redacted] by phone and sent her a full refund.We appreciate that the Revdex.com is here for customers to have assistance in matters where they may be taken advantage of, however this was not the case in ID# [redacted] I had phone conversations with [redacted] as well as a very detailed email explaining the instructions to her to retrieve her refund through [redacted] as generally they do not accept claims through the shipper and prefer the claims to come from the receiverIn our initial contact, the concern with [redacted] was that her cake had been delivered to the wrong address with some of the contents damaged and some missing once she received itI can certainly understand how she must have feltBecause we deal with food, we have a strict “no refund" policy on shipped items (which is clear on our website where she ordered the cake)Once packages leave our facility for shipping they are out of our control therefore we cannot accept responsibilityOwn our website we have a very visable “Shipping FAQ" page which can be found on www.sweetfreedombakery.com and www.store.sweetfreedombakery.com.Additionally, [redacted] is a very reliable carrier and rarely has reason for us to complain, yet if her package didn't arrive properly they must know in order to be accountableWhen [redacted] did not get an immediate answer from me to refund her due to my companies policies and my urging her to contact ***, she called our bakery times harassing our employees, made negative posts on [redacted] and even had her mother post negatively on [redacted] While we certainly can understand her frustration in not receiving an immediate refund, the proper steps on her end were ignoredA great deal for this frustration could have been avoided if she had taken the necessary steps and called [redacted] right awayThis is very unusual behavior of our clientele and quite surprising as we very rarely have a complaintHowever, once the harassment began, I realized that I would need to take action on her behalfI contacted a former employee of [redacted] to seek advise on how to handle a claim from the back end and was successful in getting the response I needed to make this work for [redacted] .I called [redacted] yesterday and explained in a voicemail that I would be sending the check for the full refund and stated her address and also asked that she call me back or text me to confirm receipt of the message and that the address was correctI never heard from her, and I did drop the check at the post office this morninFinally, I would like make note of a few more things as I think it is necessary for the Revdex.com to understand that I did offer an immediate replacement cake to [redacted] in the first phone conversation as she has a Philadelphia address and it was the day of the party for her mother so that they still would something to celebrate and she declined my offerIn that conversation, I told her that I was certain that [redacted] would make good on the damaged package and that they would reimburse her to pay for the replacement cakeI am enclosing a copy of our email correspondence so you can see I was never rude and never made an uncomfortable situationI even gave her my cell phone number to contact me again for assistance.I hope that this is now a closed case as we strive to be an honest and compassionate companyWe are an allergen-free bakery specializing in baked goods that people cannot have in a “normal" bakeryWe are free of gluten, corn, soy, dairy, eggs, nuts, refined sugars, chemical food dyes and we are KosherA great number of our customers not only suffer from allergies or food intolerances but also life threatening illnesses and rely on us to be a safe, comfortable and happy atmosphereI appreciate your time and attention to this matterPlease contact me if you require additional information.Kind regards,Jennifer K
