I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***Please add your rejection comments below. ***, you just don't get it do you? Again, the cake was to signify my sister's soul being FREE, and cheap little flowers ALL stuck to a tree branch that covered the entire cake does not signify being free. You also had plenty of time to let me know that you didn't know how to write in cursive How you think you had free "license" to do whatever you wanted when you had explicit directions on how the cake was supposed to be tied into the poem "I'm Free" is beyond me. The fact that the guests (mourners would be a more proper term) ate the cake does not excuse your total lack of attention to detail...detail that was very clear in my email...so clear that you even thanked me for making them so clear as it "made your job easier". Why would anyone...a bride, a parent of a birthday child, or a family of a deceased loved one want to use a baker that totally disregarded what THEY wanted? I don't accept your offer of $or your bad attitude. I would have accepted an offer of paying me back everything except the cost of the eggs, milk, and flour used to make the cake which was minimal I'm sure and probably no more than $10-at best. My complaint stands with the Revdex.com and I have all the proof in writing of how the cake was supposed to be. You're in the wrong business if you think your attitude is okay and if you take anything away from this "first time anybody has ever complained" experience, take this....the customer is always right! And if you don't know what that means...you just lost all of my business, the business of family members and their individual family members, and the business of anybody that reads this review. You messed up.... you should have been a professional and owned up to that mistake, made complete financial restitution to the customer along with a heartfelt apology instead of excuses, and then most importantly grown from this experience. Sadly, you have done nothing except ruin MY experience on the day that was my last day to do something loving and memorable for my beloved big sister and honestly, how does one assign $to that. YOU live with that, I'm done with you! ***

As a busy and growing bakery, we fill many special orders on a weekly basis. We sometimes have very simple requests and we also have more in depth ones. I knew this order was very important from the start and I made sure that everything went smoothly while filling it. This specific
customer ordered and received a half sheet of vanilla cake with vanilla bean buttercream and a dozen gluten free cupcakes with vanilla bean buttercream. Both the cake and cupcakes were tinted to a turquoise color that matched the picture the customer shared with us. The customer had listed, in an email, specifics on what she would like the cake to look like and have written on it. We did our best to follow all of those requests, as we do with all of our orders However, it is sometimes difficult to interpret and execute an image and/or idea from paper to a physical and edible product. Like in any art, there is a license for creative freedom and I think this is a very important point. For this specific instance, I thought we did a great job. I know we made a delicious and beautiful cake. Unfortunately, that did not meet all the expectations of the customer. I have been in business for years now and I can honestly say I have never received a complaint like this. Having never experienced a customers dissatisfaction such as this one, I took it upon myself to contact the venue where the memorial took place. I had an in depth conversation with the owner and she assured me that the cake was a huge hit, eaten and loved by all the guests. She also mentioned that this customer was dissatisfied with many things with them as well. After hearing this, I did not think it was appropriate to continue communication with the customer, as I did not know what her intentions were. From my perspective, the order was fulfilled correctly and delivered on time. We did hand make all of the flowers (they were not commercially made) and I chose to write in print because my script is not “pretty” (I figured it was more important to be legible and clear) I would be okay with refunding this customer $75, not the full amount To the customer: I am so sorry for the loss of your sister, I know this is a hard time for you. Please let me know how to proceed.Best,*** ***

***, I am sorry that you are still not satisfied with the offer of a partial reimbursment The cake was eaten and enjoyed by the guests regardless of the decoration I am sorry the flowers were not blowing off of the branch like you wanted and the writing was in print, but that should not result in a full refundEverything else you asked for was correct If you would like to accept my offer of $please send me your address and I will mail you a check If you decline this offer of almost 40% off the total order, then there is nothing else I can do.*** ***
