Review: Sweet Tooth placed an advertisement for a [redacted] discount that My friends and I were interested in, for getting together over the holidays (Their coupon was for $35.00 to make 4 cupcakes with the an instructor, plus wine & cheese). I spoke to the manager, [redacted] and made the arrangements. She told me that the gratuity and tax were not included in the coupon price (she said it wouldn't be more than $10). That was fine. It was also stated in the [redacted], but no required amount was stated.The problem was the night of the event she told us we had to pay $15.00 cash each for the tax and gratuity in addition to the $35. It doesn't seem like anyone should force you to pay a desired amount for a tip, when there is no specified amount. The $15.00 is way more than 20 percent even with tax. She collected $15.00 from each person. There were 7 people in this group and the event was for 2 hours. When [redacted] was told about the tip she said it's in the [redacted] print, I told you.Only I double checked and it is not specified as $15.00. There is no amount listed.Also She had one bottle of white and one red wine and a dish of cheese and crackers. There was not enough for everyone to have a glass of white wine. White was the desired wine by everyone and they had to settle for red even if they did not want it.Desired Settlement: I feel my friends and I are owed a refund on the tip and tax.This is poor business and an inconvenience.4 people in my group who paid a tip and tax of $60.00 cashThe $35.00 course was paid by 2 on credit cards and 2 cashThe other 3 people combined in the class are unknown.I have the [redacted] reciept and photos from the event as proof and could email that to you, but no reciept for the tip and tax.

In response to the complain! filed for Sweetooth in Katonah, New York.

1. We placed an add on [redacted] to promote our Wine and Cheese parties which Includes two hours of decorating lessons by

a trained pastry chef at a discounted rate of $35.00( half off)

2. The total for the class is normally $70.00 not including tax and gratuity.

3. Once the customer calls the store we let them know that items( tax gratuity and lip) are not included in !he price paid to [redacted].

4. The customer is allowed to contact [redacted] at that point lo obtain a refund.

5. When we call to confirm we always again let them know about the tax and gratuity of 15%

6. It states on the print out for [redacted] that the tip and tax are on the pre discounted price.

7. Most establishments that participate with [redacted] charge the gratuity upfront as the services are done in a group setting

and it makes I more comfortable for everyone.

8. The pre discounted price is $70.00 so the tip on this at 15% is $10.50 and the tax on $70.00 at 8.25 percent which is the tax in Katonah ([redacted] ) is $5.75 so means that they actually underpaid for the tax and gratuity.

9. We have done hundreds of these parties and have only had great feedback and positive reviews

10. We always make sure to tell customers ahead of time that there is a tip and tax to be paid.

I am very sorry that we ran out of white wine as we generally have sufficient wine but we are not a bar. As she stated, we had plenty of red but ran out of white wine. We generally can not gauge how much wine is consumed but most customers enjoy the educational time and use it to learn something fun This event is supposed to be fun and I am sure that [redacted] did a great job as she is very professional and she spends a lot teaching and working with the customers What I find is sad is that a professional person takes two hours out of her time to educate and provide a great learning experience and someone complains about a tip that is well deserved.

We have decided that we will no longer provide a discounted service for a professional lo provide a great service to customers
