Sweet Tooth Dental Center Reviews (1)

Review: I originally went to Sweet Tooth Dental and Dr. [redacted] on 1/5/13. I went in for a scheduled appt to get a crown on a tooth that I had a recent root canal on (another Dr.). Once in the chair, I was asked if I wanted a teeth cleaning and x-rays. I explained to them that I did not want either, as I just had my teeth cleaned in Nov. They would not stop, telling me it was free for new patients and they preferred to have their own x-rays. I finally said OK not wanting to argue any longer. After the cleaning and x-rays, I was told by Dr. [redacted] he didn't have enough time to fit me for a crown and that I would have to come back. This annoyed me to no end. Upon leaving, Dr. [redacted] asked me for my $50 deductible. Apparently it wasnt free for customers who had insurance which was never asked of me at the beginning (bait and switch?). Dr. [redacted] later called me and apologized for their mistake and refunded me the $50, told me there would be no claim. I decided to not come back for the crown. I found their customer service atrocious. I was notified by Sweet Tooth on 5/6/13 that they hired a new office person who found my 1/5/13 visit to which she filed a claim with my insurance. Sweet Tooth said they would write a letter to Cigna and rip up the check. Thats what I was told. I called Cigna multiple times over the next 4+ weeks, and was told that my claim was still there and Sweet Tooth had not taken care of it. After multiple emails back and forth with Dr. [redacted] and Sweet Tooth, this is what I received back, I advise you to contact your insurance company as I have already sent you the fax that was sent to them on 05/07/2013.this needs to stop. What your doing is called extortion and that is against the law THE END.Desired Settlement: To have the claim off my Cigna insurance. Simple as that. Sweet Tooth Dental and Dr. [redacted] accepted responsibility for their mistake. However, they now feel their duty is done by writing a letter to Cigna and ripping up the check. Yet, I'm here with their claim still sitting on my insurance. Cigna has told me they need to hear from Dr. [redacted]. So I'm reaching out to you Revdex.com. Not sure what to do, and why Sweet Tooth feels that they don't need to deal with Cigna directly to fix this.

I am rejecting this response because:

The claim that was never suppose to filed by Sweet Tooth Dental in the first place is still on my insurance. Until that is off my insurance, Sweet Tooth Dental is at fault. Because of their admitted error, I cannot get full service from another dental provider. Sharon (will not dignify him with a title), has said multiple times he's "ripped up the check and sent letters" to Cigna to get this resolved. The fact of this case is it's not resolved as much as Sharon and Sweet Tooth Dental have said they've done "everything in their power". Don't they have common sense that if you rip up a check, the case is not closed? Checks are good for 6 months before someone who writes that check is notified. The incompetence streaming from Sweet Toot Dental knows no bounds. And yes, I've written several bad reviews online about my experience at Sweet Tooth Dental. I think it's only fair that other potential clients of Sharon and Sweet Tooth Dental know that they might be put in the same boat. And I have not made threat after threat to Sharon and Sweet Tooth. In fact, I've received repeated harassing emails from their office assistant, Kristen, at Sweet Tooth. I'd be happy to provide every single one of these harassing emails (I've kept a nice folder for them all). In addition, Sharon and Sweet Tooth decided to respond to Yelp with my last name posted out there for the world to see. That is highly unethical coming from his profession and he should know better. I brought this to their attention and made reference that if it was not taken down immediately I would go to the Dental Board so they could hear what has taken place and I was going to hire an attorney to represent me. Guess what, they took it down. Smart move. So you see, I'm the one that is being harassed by Sweet Tooth Dental. Not the other way around. If it wasn't for their mistake by filing a claim 4 months after my visit that they said wouldn't be filed, they would never had heard from me again. Yet, they can't correct their own mistake and have been an absolute nightmare in dealing with. I feel sorry for anyone that goes to Sweet Tooth Dental going forward.
