Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I reject this response on so many levels.First, I know what a LEGITIMATE program is and how it is installed, uninstalled and acts on a computer. I also know how a VIRUS/MALWARE program is and how it is installed, uninstalled and acts on a computer. Pokki is beyond a doubt VIRUS/MALWARE made to look like a legitimate program so the company doesn't get flagged for spreading VIRUS/MALWAREaHow a LEGITIMATEprogram gets installed: I SEARCH AND FIND a legitimate program I want to install on my computer, research it, go to the companies website or related website, in most cases CNET or something similar, click on the download link and follow the instructions. After downloading, I go to downloads, click on the link, the computer asks me if I want to allow the program to make changes to my computer, I click yes and the program installs.bHow a VIRUS/MALWARE gets installed: A program from a company I have never heard of is attached to a website, hidden so no one knows it is there, when someone goes to that website the VIRUS/MALWARE downloads itself without letting computer owner know it is doing so, and installs itself bypassing the the window where the owner is asked if they want to allow this program to install itself on the computer. The only way the computer owner knows the virus has been installed is because the computer starts doing strange things or, as in this case, new icons pop in the menu or on the task bar. With regards to Sweetlabs and Pokki, I had never heard of Sweetlabs or Pokki prior to trying to uninstall it and I never went looking for it because I don't want anything like Pokki on my computer. Pokki followed the b option above to the letter. I never went looking for it, it was attached to another website hidden so it could install itself anonymous without the owners permission. It never followed Windows protocol, asking for permission to make changes to this computer, instead bypassing that Windows safety notice all together, and the only way I knew the VIRUS/MALWARE had changed my computer was because of the new icon in the taskbar
aHow a LEGITIMATE program gets uninstalled: Go to Control Panel, under Programs click on Uninstall a program, find the program you want to uninstall in the programs installed on this computer list, click on it and click uninstall and the computer uninstalls the program. After the program or programs are uninstalled, you will be asked to restart your computer. After the restart, the program is no longer on your computer and is gone from the list of programs installed on this computer. In effect is is gone for good never to be seen again.bhow a VIRUS/MALWARE program won't let itself be uninstalled: Follow the procedure above, which is basically the same instructions Sweetlabs offered, to attempt to uninstall the program. Except at the end when you restart your computer, the VIRUS/MALWARE re-installs itself on the computer again over and over again no matter how many time you attempt the procedure above or follow Sweetlabs instruction. It always re-installs itself on the computer after the restart. This is why I could never get Pokki off my computer and had to take it to a professional to have it removed.Second, because of the way Pokki refused to allow itself to be uninstalled without professional help, even following their specific instruction, which do not work, Pokki can only be a VIRUS/MALWARE. It takes control of the computer without the owners consent and refuses to be uninstalled. Plainly, it is VIRUS/MALWARE in every way. But you don't have to take my word for it. A simple browser search for the word Pokki VIRUS/MALWARE reveals I am not the only one who considers it VIRUS/MALWARE. Such as:http://botcrawl.com/how-to-remove-the-pokki-virus/http://www.wikihow.com/Unin... /> ***

***No matter how legitimate Sweetlabs claims Pokki is all these sources cannot be wrong. The only way to get Pokki uninstalled from a computer is, not following their worthless instructions because they do not work, but to install some form of VIRUS/MALWARE removal tool. Pokki is VIRUS/MALWARE and the company should be investigated for spreading VIRUS/MALWARE and fined/charged accordingly

We are following up regarding a complaint received from the Revdex.com dated September 14, regarding our Pokki(R) software. The person in the complaint states they had difficulty uninstalling Pokki, and further refers to Pokki as a "virus." As should be clear from even a
cursory web search, our Pokki software is not a virus, but an app platform, start menu and app marketplace that is offered freely to users and has been installed by tens of millions of users from our website, Pokki.com, and through our partnership with a number of major device providers. In fact, our Pokki software has been positively reviewed by a number of legitimate websites and technology periodicals, including PCworld, which give it a star rating (out of stars): http://www.pcworld.com/article/2025764/review-pokki-shows-the-windows-8-that-mig... Of course, we understand that not everyone will ultimately find our Pokki software useful Therefore we have made our software easy to uninstall through a standard uninstall process that is the same as for any other software We also provide additional help and support through our Pokki.com site, including at the following link: http://support.pokki.com/In particular, there is a section on our help site regarding uninstalling Pokki: http://support.pokki.com/customer/en/portal/articles/716971-uninstalling-pokki, which has been pasted below: Uninstalling PokkiLast Updated: Mar 13, 2015**Uninstall Pokki on Windows XP**From the Start menu, choose Control PanelIn Control Panel, click Add or Remove ProgramsSelect Pokki from the list of currently installed programs, then click RemoveWhen asked if you would like to uninstall Pokki, select YesNote: Windows XP is no longer supported**Uninstall Pokki on Windows Vista or Windows 7**From the Start menu, choose Control PanelIn Control Panel, click Programs and FeaturesSelect Pokki from the list of currently installed programs, then click UninstallDo the same for "Host App Service" and "Start Menu" if they are listedWhen asked if you would like to uninstall, select Yes **Uninstall Pokki on Windows 8**Switch to the Metro UI (windows key)Start typing "Control Panel"Scroll down and click More SettingsClick Uninstall a Program under the Programs sectionSelect Pokki from the list of currently installed programs, then click UninstallDo the same for "Host App Service" and "Start Menu" if they are listed.7. Review: On September 11, 2015, I was surfing the web reading the news and following news article links, looking at nothing in particular when I noticed a new Icon on my task bar. Something I had never seen before. It called itself Pokki. It appeared out of nowhere, I didn't update anything, download anything, or do anything else that would have caused me to install this virus on my computer. It just appeared and never asked to be installed on my computer. I spent several hours trying to uninstall the virus from my computer to include: uninstalling it from programs, searching for all the files related to Pokki and uninstalling them and deleting them but every time I restarted my computer the virus reinstalled itself on my computer. Before this, I had never heard of the Pokki Virus or Sweetlabs, inc. I definitely never wanted this virus on my computer. Eventually after giving up on trying to uninstall the virus from my computer, I had to take it to a computer technician who charged me $300.00 to remove it completely from my computer. Any company installing viruses on computers shouldn't be allowed to continue in business even if they are calling them applications, if it can't be uninstalled it is a virus. I thought distributing viruses was against the law. This company needs to be stopped.Desired Settlement: Ideally, I will be reimbursed the $300.00 by the company for installing the virus on my computer without my knowledge and making is so hard to uninstall that I have to have a computer technician. Plus making the company pay 3 time the national debt in reparations to any others that have had this problem. So while I'm not expecting the company to reimburse me and deny any of my accusations, It would be nice to make them pay off the national debt 3 times over for developing and distributing a virus, not a so called app, on the internet.
