In September of 2018, *** and his team at Sweetwater Plumbing re-piped and re-drained my home. This was an $11,000 job. After they left, the smell of sewage returned and we continued to have problems with our washer and dryer (initially the symptom of my first plumbing issues), but it wasn't enough to assume something was seriously wrong. Fast forward to February of 2020, my washing machine backed up and water spilled onto the floor and seeped out the side of our home. This is the exact same thing that happened before Sweetwater came to "fix" my home. In addition to the washing machine being backed up my kitchen sink was backing up and the wastewater was coming out of the back of the washing machine. It was at this point I called a different plumber to come check out what was wrong. This new plumbing company took photos of under my home and showed me the ways in which Sweetwater hadn't left my home up to code. Including not leaving pipes on a slope, leaving a cast iron pipe with a large crack still attached, not properly installing a p trap and not sealing effectively. There was also a large screw left in one of the pipes leading to the leakage that seeped out of the walls. Plain and simple they didn’t do what they said they were going to do. I am now having to do this whole process over again with my new plumber and have to pay the $11,000 all over again.

My name is *** with Sweetwater Plumbing. I'm sorry your line backed up again. Why didn't you call us right away so we could come check it out and see what happened?

It would be very easy for another plumber to come in and sell you something after we are long gone. I see it all the time. If we did in fact leave a piece of exposed pipe that was serviceable you could have called me on it and we could have it replaced. Has somebody already done the work?

Did you inspect the work after we finished the job and you signed the contract? You certainly were entitled to pictures of the work Joe did under the house at the time.

I'm not sure what we left that was not up to code. If you had got a permit at the time of the repair you could have had an inspector sign off the job. Getting a permit is the homeowner’s obligation. Not the salesman.

*** if you’re paying 11 grand all over again and you haven't had problems for over a year, there is a good chance you’re getting sold. The blockage is likely beyond the portion of exposed pipes and into the main line.

If you have not had another plumber go out there and lay hands on the project, I would be happy to go out there and resolve the situation. Unfortunately, the first time I heard about the situation is from the Revdex.com. Let me know if I can help.

Customer Response • Mar 11, 2020

I am rejecting this response because: They assert I should have had an inspector come immediately after they completed their work and that it falls on me to ensure THEY did their job. While legally that may be correct, it still is no way to treat your customer after such and expensive mistake. This is an excerpt from their email to me:"Did you inspect the work after we finished the job and you signed the contract? You certainly were entitled to pictures of the work Joe did under the house at the time.I'm not sure what we left that was not up to code. If you had got a permit at the time of the repair you could have had an inspector sign off the job. Getting a permit is the homeowners obligation. Not the salesman."
They are running away from the problem they didn't fix in the first place and assert that it was my fault I didn't check their work. Madness. Now I have a different plumber that actually cleans up after themselves and does the job right the first time. They clearly do not want to help me resolve this, and I paid the price for working with them. I don't know how many more bridges they can burn.

My house had a pinhole leak in the wall between the master and guest bathrooms. Sweetwater came out and did the job of fixing the leak and drying out the carpet. They left a mess and tore out way more than needed. Unfortunately, they decided to tear out all of our bathroom cabinets and walls in the process. They then sent in a sister company, Bahamas Construction (who does not have a Revdex.com profile yet), to handle remodeling. This company was TERRIBLE. They never gave an estimate or followed through on their promises. Nevertheless, I dropped them like a hot potato. They still owe us money for a deposit, for which they did not provide services. While Sweetwater appears trustworthy I found them not to be, hence I will not use them again because of their association with Bahamas. The owner, Shawn, does not like to be called out.

Regarding *** Complaint. *** the technician went above and beyond his call of duty going to the customers house three times to clear sediment and debri out of her plumbing system. We explained to her that this was a courtesy to her being a senior. We simply couldn’t absorb any more cost to the company being that her final bill only totaled $150 dollars.

Customer Response • Aug 22, 2019

I am rejecting this response because:the total bill for the toilet that was not fixed was $175 for labor not $150 in addition I PAID for all the parts Every part involved to fuc three toilets and I have the receipt as proofand the NeW toilet and tank installed in one of the bathrooms Again senior discount was not included at all until *** called and said it was in the order WHEN *** and *** said I should have asked before the job began sotheir reasoning and dodging the issue is utterly ABURSD and NonsenseDo the right thing

Sweetwater Plumbing Industries Response • Aug 29, 2019

Regarding *** Complaint. We take every complaint very serious. However, we can’t absorb any additional cost from the extra services we already provided.

Customer Response • Aug 29, 2019

I am rejecting this response because: they did not provide additional services they had to come back three times because *** could not fix the leak as I mentioned in my statement of facts. Revdex.com ,please review my facts and assist me with a fair resolution. Thank you for your assistance..

On 6/18/18, called plumber as water was backing up into dishwasher. Was told my line needed clearing Paid $430.00 to have line hydro jetted and guaranteed to remain clear for two years. Called with same complaint in July 2018 and someone who said he was a supervisor ran my hot water for over 20 minutes to clear. On 8/31/18 called to complain of water backing into dishwasher again. Plumber came 2 or 3 days later and took pipe under sink apart and said hair was in drain. On May 23, 2019 called with same complaint. Was told by *** someone would come to fix problem. Have waited 2 days and still no one has come. I really do not believe my line needed hydro jetting as the original problem has NEVER been fixed

Customer Response • Jun 01, 2019

I am rejecting this response because:
I am not sure issue is resolved. Problem may be fixed but usually takes time once plumber leaves to show up. Also business did not tell truth that they tried to get here before *** showed up. I was told plumber would be at my home perhaps the same day that I called. At approx 5 pm *** called and we arranged for him to come next day. He was to call in the morning. After about 930 that morning I called the office and ***n told me Mice should be at my home around 3. This was day before Memorial Day. Never heard from anyone again until I made a complaint. This happened the last time I reported the problem. As I stated in my original complaint I do not think my line was clogged with anything that couldn’t have been removed with normal clearing which does not cost what I paid. Hopefully the water won’t back up into dishwasher again. It doesn’t seem to be. Will NEVER utilize this company again. Also I never signed anything other than my original bill dated 6/2018

Sweetwater Plumbing Industries Response • May 07, 2019

Unfortunately , this is someone that wants to intentionally harm our business for personal reasons. The actual homeowner his father where the work was conducted is content with our deal. Hope this helps.

I'm a first-time home owner I just moved into a house in the city of Fontana. I noticed that I had a leak my hallway where the washer and dryer goes. Since I don't know anyone in the area I looked into the Pennysaver because there's always low price service. I called Sweetwater plumbing company and they sent someone over. The plumber seem nice he looked at the problem and he told me that he just needed to fix one part. Which was the handle where the hot water or cold water comes out. To make sure it was only the handle that was leaking he cut a small area in my drywall. He assured me that he only need to replace the handle. He also said that the handle was leaking for a long time and that leak can cause mold. The plumber told me that I can go through my homeowner's insurance or I could pay out of pocket. I wasn't sure if I had homeowner insurance, but he kept telling me yes I have to have homeowners insurance. The plumber were pushing for me to use the homeowner insurance. He said because the insurance will replace the drywall, floor, etc. I told him I don't even know what insurance that I had and he told me that's fine just take a day to make a claim with my insurance and call him back. I asked the plumber how much would he charge just to fix the leak. The plumber said he would only charge me $200 to fix the and labor. Again he told me just to go through the homeowners insurance and he would call the owner of the company so they can send another plumber out with fans to dry the walls. I agreed to go through homeowners insurance. Another plumber came with fans. The plumber came with three fans and set them up against the wall. They explain the process of going through the homeowners insurance. They told me that they have to send someone over to test for asbestos. That they cannot continue the work until everything gets tested. The the plumber said he will not take the 200 right now and gave me a receipt. He said just to call him the next day with the claim number. So I didn't pay attention to the second plumber who set up the fans one of the fans was it dehumidifier he connected the tube to my water drain. He took out the water drain from my washer. So the next day when I did laundry and my washing machine drain drained out the water it drained all over my floor. The plumber that set up the fans did not tell me that he took out the part for my washer. My carpet floor was drenched with water. I was so upset. I called the first plumber that came and asked him if I not supposed to use washer machine. The plumber said yeah I can use my washer machine and he walked me through to check all the pipes and the washing machine drainage pipe was on the floor I had no idea. The second plumber didn't tell me anything about the washer machine he just plugged in the fans and said he was done and left. Again the first plumber told me the fans were only will be left there for 3 days. So the next day I call my home owners insurance and I tried to make a claim. They gave me a claim number and they looked into my policy and told me my deductible was 2500. I text the plumber the claim number and I told him I couldn't afford the deductible so I will just pay out of pocket. I told him if he could just send me the bill and to just tell them to cancel everything the fans to cancel the testing for asbestos. The plumber didn't come that day to pick up the fans he didn't come in the next 3 days to get the fans the second plumber waited a whole 7 days just to get the plant fans. I called the company again and told the dispatcher please send me the bill she had to contact the plumber who did the work and told him to call me. The plumber call me and I told them again I'm not using the insurance I'm paying out-of-pocket please send one to come pick up the fans. All of this stuff happened right in August the fans made my house even hotter than outside I just couldn't handle the fans in here no more. The plumber did send someone to pick up the fans that Day. The owner called me and told me that it would cost $2,000 but that he will give me a big discount. Then I get a bill saying that I owe them $1,200. I was shocked and I called the owner of the company. The owner told me that he will charge me $1,200 the best that he can do for all the work that they did and I told him no that's way too much there's there's no way I'm going to pay can pay that. He told me that he has to charge that much that's how much it cost. So then I called him a few days later and I explained to him again that the plumber said he would only charge me $200 I told him no other work was done on my house there was no testing for asbestos nobody came and cut all the drywall out of my laundry area the only thing that was done was to fix the handle. He said final only charge me 600 if I pay on the spot. I hesitated but I didn't want to have bad credit so I just paid the 600. So what I did was I called two other plumbers and I showed him the handle. I took pictures of the handle and I showed them the work that was done and they gave me their quotes. One plumber told me the most he ever charged any of his customers for what the work I had done was 300. The other plumber told me that he would only charge me 350 and for the fans just to go rent them at Home Depot. Then I knew right then and there that I was tricked that they overcharged me and they're taking advantage of of me because I'm a first-time home owner, and im a female. I don't know anything about Plumbing I didn't know anything about the situation. I've been taken advantage by this plumbing company. They did break down what all the charges were for they just summarized the bill.

After I gave her a huge discount she complains. Amazing, I think I will take her to court for the whole amount.

Customer Response • Sep 24, 2018

I am rejecting this response because:I talked to other plumbers I believe I was over charge. If you want to take me court then that I have to accept that.

My baseboard was wet by my bathroom and did not know what it was. I called Sweetwater to come out and look at it and they told me it was a slab leak. At the time my little boy had just had surgery and he was on a lot of pain, so I did not have time to research. I asked how much it would cost me. The guy who came out said it would be 1,200. I decided to go with sweetwater pluming and had them just fix the problem. Well, as soon as he got started he calls me and tells me that there are more leaks. I went to see and there was water coming out of the pipes. I wonder why it was not happening before, but I still trusted the company and asked them what they could do. They said I could get the insurance company to pay. I told them I had a big didacbtible and did not want to use the insurance. The person told me not to worry about the deductible, that they would work with me on that. After, he looked at damage he said I would only have to pay 1,100. So, I agree. After he was done. I paid and thought everything was done. Well, a few days later I get a called from the owner telling me I owe him 2,500. I said that was not the deal. I told him I would only pay what I was told, since the insurance already paid them for the dryers they brought in. The owner came to my house demanding the money. When I explain what the his employee told me. He said he did not care and he wanted his money. He said his employee was probably on drugs and that he had been terminated. I refuse to pay him, so he took me to court. He won and the money was taken out of my bank account. I want people to know that this company is very dishonest. If you hired them have them put it in writing before they do the work. Also, after I put my bathroom back together again, the pipes are making a popping sound. I do not know what that is, but I guess I'm going to spend more money to have another company come and look at it.
