Swing Thai

On August 1st, 2019, we went to Swing Thai (301 S Pennsylvania St, Denver, CO 80209) for dinner and the total came to $61.

When the bill came, we noticed that the restaurant added an 18% service fee (which is fine with us), but instead of charging 61*0.18 = 10.98, the charge line is $11.87, which was close to 19.46%. We asked the server at the restaurant, they claimed that it was automatically computed and refused to do anything about this. The receipt clearly stated "Service Charge 18% (18.00%)", under the Subtotal of 61 dollars. So there was no ambiguity.

In addition, the restaurant charged us $5.90 Tax on $61.00 food bill, which is 9.67%, which is significantly higher than the expected 8%.

I have the receipt as a proof if you need it.

Although the total amount of overcharges is relatively small, less than $2. However, we feel that we got cheated out of our money and this became a fraud.
