Sylvan In-Home Tutoring initially came to me, not the other way aroundTheir product is hiring new tutors who, instead of tutoring at a Sylvan Learning Center, will go to private homes to tutor studentsI really liked the way their program looked because it was high-tech and offered what public schools say they offer but actually don't opportunities for today's brilliant students to discover their massive potential via an experienced tutor who sees how smart they REALLY are then provides the students opportunities to themselves discover that Potential then use it to excel academically, pursue a highly rewarding career, then experience a truly happy life Well, almost from the very beginning, what Sylvan claimed turned out to be far from realityFor starters, while I was reading their new program material and had many questions along the way, they basically NEVER answered their phoneThen suddenly I was invited to come to their facility in Hunt Valley for an Orientation regardi

I contacted the Revdex.com months ago about the same issue, but it has not been correctly rectified I signed up for Sylvan Learning Center tutoring services October I applied for tuition credit through [redacted] who is operated by [redacted] Bank The initial charge and agreement was for $worth of tutoring services to be paid monthly over a month term with 0% apr locking in a rate of $each month.(see attachment pages 1-3) [redacted] started Tutoring 10/20/and we discontinued services 3/10/We had many concerns about the program and weren't getting the results we needed Our account with [redacted] was current and payment ceased in April I contacted [redacted] at the Hyde Park location to put in our paperwork for the cancellation since [redacted] informed me it takes time for it to go through corporate After months of no response and receiving calls from [redacted] , [redacted] finally put my account on hold until they could get in contact with someone concerning

I'm writing this to share a very bad experience with the center that my son attended We live in overland park and my son attended sylvan learning center that is located at W 133rd St Overland Park KS I bought hours at first and started going since July hoping that when school starts he would be ready and prepared for the new school yearI had three conferences and I expressed some points that were a red flag for meI used to email the center - not to one person but to people who works there and no response to my emailsThe directors talked me into buying additional hours and that this will help my son in his writing skillsI agreed to that and bought the hours MAp results came back and were so disappointing to meI shared this with the director and asked to take a look at my son's workTo my surprise, I saw that they didn't work on the writing part and didn't deliver what the director promised me I asked my son about one of the passages that he wrote and why did he write that.( something that he never saw on TV) He said that the teacher told him to write the passage!!! I'm really disappointed with the results and with all the time and money that I spentI talked to the owner and asked for a refund but he was very negative and declined to refund meHe wasn't even cooperative and didn't offer any help.This is just a review to whoever wants to enroll their kids in this programNot sure about the other locations in my city but I can 100% say the center that I sent my son to was really badThe staff didn't care, they don't reply to emailsYou have to call them and ask them if they have received the email

Since it took the Sylvan Learning representative so long to issue the credit on my account, a substantial amount of interest accrued in the interim Last week I received a bill still reflecting a large balance due, even though this was supposed to be resolved several months ago.

Review: I contracted with Sylvan in March 2014 for tutoring services for a family member. We agreed upon a plan (approximately $7,500) which would be financed through [redacted] - Your Tuition Solution, interest free for one year. I understood that interest would begin accruing at the end of the one year term - March 2015. I also understood that I could terminate the contract at any time with 2 weeks notice.

Due to [redacted] issues incurred by my family member, he was hospitalized at the end of May 2014. I advised Sylvan representatives that my nephew should be off the calendar until further notice. At some time in June 2014, I spoke with [redacted] (or another Sylvan rep) and advised that I was terminating the contract. At that time, I was told that we had incurred charges of approximately $4,000 and that the [redacted] account would be refunded the balance (of approximately $3,500). I heard nothing further until I contacted [redacted] in January 2015. At that time, I was advised that no refund had been issued, and that I should contact Sylvan. I did so. After various communications back and forth, [redacted] again agreed that $4,000 is the amount I should pay to complete the outstanding balance and that the rest would be credited to [redacted]. To date, it has not been credited, even though I have paid $4,000 to [redacted].

I have been contacted by [redacted] collections stating that I am past due, and that the credit agencies will be notified. Yesterday, I made a formal complaint to dispute the charges so that this matter can be resolved within the next 60 days.

On April *, 2014, I made a complaint with Sylvan corporate. To date, nothing has been resolved with them.

My recent attempts at communicating with [redacted] have not yielded a response.Desired Settlement: An adjustment to the [redacted] finance bill reflecting a zero balance.
