The accusations that [redacted] has filed with the Revdex.com are false and incorrect. Mr [redacted] came to us with a trailer with a miss aligned axle. We located the problem as the spring center being missing. we fixed the problem and bolted the axle back down with new u. [redacted] thought they were too long so he cut them shorter . Our invoice shows that was the work done. Any other problems stem from the trailer being used up and unsafe for the public roads, which I stated to [redacted]. He may have a problem with me telling him that the trailer is unfit and a hazard to the public. I would be happy to meet with the department of transportation to go over his equipment to support my observations of his trailer. As for me having a beer after work is none of his business. He came in after shop hours... No reply needed Thank You [redacted]

Consumer states: I just got the trailer back. They took the entire axel off. The work by Sylvan Supply is inadequate. [redacted] re-welded both sides to the proper position. They did all the work for $202. They did twice the work for the same price. When I took it back to Sylvan they never gave me any...

attention to the matter. They ordered me off the property. At that time since they unbolted the trailer it was not able to be removed. It was left for two weeks in hopes they would repair the issues. The spring on that axel was horribly twisted to the point I was sure that if I put some weight on it would break the spring. I took it to two repair shops. They both told me that it was in bad shape and needed to be repaired.  I took it to [redacted]. My issues are they did not complete the work correctly and they were rude and offensive to me. I am requesting they reimburse me for what I paid and for what I paid to have it fixed correctly.

Review: I took my trailer here to Sylvan Trailer Supply to have my light plug repaired that connects from my trailer to my truck. I have had this service done before by this same company and have been charged $75.00 , the repair basically consist of screwing 4 wires into a new $10 plug real simple repair.Upon arriving to there shop with my truck trailer combo to drop off, I talked to one of the employees , I told him what I needed done he told me to leave the truck in it's position and to give him a hour or so to fix it. I told him ok, I also told him our truck was tricky to start he said he remembered..I insisted that I showed him how to start it again , I had my employee show him how to start it again in case he had forgot, he was shown & we drove off.The next day Saturday, my employee was dropped off assuming from no call from them our truck was ready..he went inside to pay & was told the cost was $200 my ememoyee only had $100 on him I had given him not expecting this ammount. After an hour with 2 of my employees on my clock they had got ahold of or office to pay the invoice with a credit card by phone and they left. I was told of there delay and the upcharge so I called for [redacted] (owner) I asked him why it cost more than $75.00 he immidiatly took offence, said he never charged me for this & never charged me for that. He said I also never charged you the "fking" 45 minutes it took my employee to start your truck. said "everytime I go to him for repairs I complain about the price" Not True, never once!. I just always ask for the exspected cost up front, except this time I didnt I guess my fault. So after a mouthful he hung up the phone on me (real professional right)? I was thinking to myself, Wow! All I asked was why was there a difference in price? I guess maybe I caught him on a bad day, but no customer deserves that, very uncalled for, very unprofessional! In the beginning of his rant he told me what extra work was done, I never argued the cost I was ok with it , he just unloaded on me.Desired Settlement: Im not looking for a discount , I feel very bad, real bad customer service from [redacted]. I did everything I could to show his worker how to start our truck hands on, he assured me it was no issue. Also what happen to written estimate or a signed approval? Again I had no issue of charge once exsplained what work was done, [redacted] just handled it very poor. In close, [redacted] has always done great work for me, I'm sorry our business ends this way.

Review: ON 1/15/2015, I TOOK MY TRAILER TO SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY FOR REPAIR OF A CRACKED “SADDLE” WELD THAT SETS THE AXIL SQUARE TO THE SPRINGS WHEN IT AND THE AXIL IS U-BOLTED TO IT. THIS WAS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE REAR AXIL. THE SERVICE PERSON SAID THAT HE WOULD ALSO WELD IN A CENTER PIN TO THIS. THE BILL CALLS THIS A CENTER PIN REPAIR. THE BILL ON INVOICE #[redacted] WAS FOR 272.52, WHICH I PAID ON 1/29/2015 BY CHECK #[redacted], WHEN I PICKED UP THE TRAILER.

THE REPAIR MAN SHOWED ME THE REPAIR AND I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE-U BOLTS USED WERE TOO LONG AND TAKING UP AT LEAST 3” OF THJE 4 ½ “SPACE BETWEEN THE SPRINGS AND THE TRAILER FRAME. THIS LEFT NO MORE THAN 1 ½ “ FOR THE SPRING TO FLEX. I ASKED THE SERVICE MAN TO CUT OFF THE EXCESS ON THE U-BOLTS. I THOUGHT THAT HE WOULD DO THIS WITH A PROPER TOOL SO THAT THE U-BOLTS COULD BE REMOVED IF NEED BE LATER. INSTEAD HE CUT THEM OFF WITH A TORCH WHICH I THOUGHT WAS A STRANGE THING TO DO BUT I MADE NO COMMENT. HE, HOWEVER, SEEMED UPSET THAT I ASKED.

THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I NOTICED THAT THE SERVICEMAN STARTED TREATING ME LIKE A “ROTTEN CUSTOMER”.

A FEW DAYS LATER I LOADED THE TRAILER WITH A LOAD OF WOOD SIMILAR TO THE AMOUNT I HAVE BEEN LOADING ON IT FOR THE APPROXIMATELY. 40 YEARS, I HAVE OWNED IT. I PULLED THE TRAILER OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND IMMEDIATELY, AS I WENT OFF THE DRIVEWAY ACROSS THE CONCRETE GUTTER OF THE HOME IN CARMICHAEL, CALIFORNIA, (ABOUT A 2”-3” DIP) THE ROCKER IN FRONT OF THE SPRING BROKE.

I ASSUMED THAT THIS WAS BECAUSE THE ROCKER WAS OLD AND THIS CAME WITH THE TERRITORY. I HAVE REPLACED THE ROCKER ON THIS AND MANY OF THE 20 TRAILERS I OWN BEFORE.

I TRIED TO LIMP BACK TO THE SHOP BY IMPROVISING WITH ALL OF THE TECHNIQUES I HAVE LEARNED ABOUT IN THE PAST 44 YEARS. I GOT ONLY ABOUT FIVE MILES BEFORE THE SPRING ON THE REPAIRED AXIL NEARLY SLIPPED COMPLETELY TO THE RIGHT OF THE FRAME OF THE TRAILER.

I PARKED THE TRAILER IN THE PARKING LOT OF A MECHANIC’S SHOP, ON FAIR OAKS BLVD. AROUND 6 pm.

THE NEXT DAY I BROUGHT 5 HYDRAULIC JACKS, 2 COME-ALONGS. 8-9 REDWOOD STUMPS AND SEVERAL BLOCKS TO THE TRAILER. EVERYTHING I DEEMED SUFFICIENT TO LIFT THE TRAILER (ALL 4 WHEELS) COMPLETELY OFF THE GROUND. I ALSO BROUGHT TWO HELPERS.

WE WORKED FOR 5 HOURS TO REPLACE THE ROCKER AND INSERT THE BOLTS INTO THE SHACKELS WHICH ATTACH THE SPRING TO THE ROCKER.

A MAJOR PART OF THIS EFFORT INVOLVED ATTACHING THE 8 TON COME-ALONG TO THE RIGHT REAR SPRING, JUST BEHIND THE ROCKER AND PULLING IT TO THE LEFT FRAME AS HARD AS WE COULD JUST TO ALIGN IT WITH THE ROCKER. WE HAD TO MOVE IT NEARLY 2” TO GET IT BACK UNDER THE FRAME AND IN LINE WITH THE ROCKER.

I FINALLY FIGURED OUT THAT 16,000 POUNDS IS TOO MUCH FORCE TO HAVE TO PULL THE SPRING OVER TO ALIGN IT PROPERLY. THIS MUCH FORCE WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE SOMETHING ELSE TO BREAK. THEREFORE THE TRAILER WILL NEVER BE SAFE TO TAKE OUT ON THE ROAD LOADED.

I UNLOADED THE TRAILER THE NEXT DAY AND TOOK IT BACK TO SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY FOR THEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS WAS AROUND MONDAY FBRUARY 9, 2015.

AS SOON AS I PRESENTED THE “YOUNG SERVICE MAN” WITH THE PROBLEM AND MY REPAIR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SITUATION, HE TOLD ME “WE” MEANING ALL THREE OF US “DID NOT KNOW WHAT WE WERE DOING.

SOON AFTER I MET THE “YOUNG” MAN WHO DID THE WELDING AND HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT “WE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WE WERE DOING”. THEY BOTH SAID THIS, IN A WAY THAT, “SHOCKED” ME. I POINTED TO WHAT I WANTED THEM TO LOOK AT. I ASKED THEM TO UNBOLT THE ONE SPRING TO SHACKEL BOLT AND OBSERVE THAT THE SPRING MOVES 1”-2” TO THE RIGHT AND OUT OF ALIGMENT WITH THE ROCKER.

I SAID THAT THE WAY THEY SAID “ WE DID NOT KNOW WHAT WERE DOING “ SHOCKED ME”, IT WAS NOT ONLY POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS BUT THEY SAID THIS IN SUCH A WAY THAT I ASSUMED THAT IF I PRESSED THE ISSUE THEY WOULD VERY QUICKLEY PHYSICALLY ATTACK ME. I AM 67 YEARS OLD. I DID NOT THINK PROVOKING THEM FURTHER WAS A GOOD IDEA.

I TRIED BUT COULD NOT FIND THE OWNER AT THAT TIME. I DID HOWEVER MAKE A DRAWING ON THE BACK OF THE NEW INVOICE IN THE HOPES THAT THE OWNER WOULD SEE IT AND ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.

TODAY 2/10/15, THE OWNER, [redacted], CALLED ME AND ASKED ME TO COME DOWN AND SHOW HIM THE PROBLEM. I TOLD HIM THAT IF HE WOULD UNBOLT THE FRONT SPRING TO SHACKLE BOLT ON THE REAR SPRING, HE WOULD SEE THAT IT WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT WITH THE TRAILER FRAME AND THE ROCKER. [redacted] ASSURED ME THAT HE WOULD DO THIS RIGHT AWAY. HE ASKED ME TO COME RIGHT DOWN AND SHOW HIM WHAT I MEANT.

WHEN I GOT THERE 2 HOURS LATER THE NUT WAS LOOSE BUT NOT REMOVED.

[redacted] WAS DRINKING BEER WITH SEVERAL OF HIS BUDDIES. IT WAS ABOUT 3:45 pm. I ASKED HIM TO REMOVE THE SHACKLE AND BOLT SO HE COULD SEE THE MISALIGNMENT. THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME I HAD ASKED THEM TO REMOVE THE BOLT. WITH STRONG COMPLAINTS [redacted] HAD THE NUT AND ONE SHACKLE REMOVED. I COULD NOT REMOVE THE BOLT BY HAND FROM THE SPRING AND OTHER SHACKEL (THERE ARE 2 PER BOLT). I JUDGED THERE TOO BE A SEVERE BIND ON THE BOLT. I ASKED [redacted] TO HAVE IT FURTHER REMOVED. HE GOT VISIBLY UPSET BUT NEVERTHELESS SENT THE FIRST YOUNG MAN TO GET TOOLS. THE YOUNG MAN RETURNED WITH A 5-7 POUND HAMMER AND A VERY LARGE PUNCH. AS SOON AS HE PUNCHED OUT THE BOLT THE SPRING JUMPED AT LEAST 1” TO THE RIGHT OF THE FRAME AND THE ROCKER. IF THE OTHER WHEEL OF THAT AXIL WAS NOT ON THE GROUND AND SLIGHTLY UPHILL, I BELIEVE THE SPRING WOULD HAVE JUMPED 2”.

I TRIED TO SHOW THIS TO [redacted] 2 OR 3 TIMES. I DO NOT BELIEVE I WAS EXCESSIVE IN MY ATTEMPTS. [redacted] COULD NOT OR WOULD NOT SEE THE PROBLEM AND BLAMED THE PROBLEM ON MY FAILED UNDERSTANDING OF “WHAT WAS NORMAL”. HE FURTHER SAID VERY STRONGLEY THAT “I BETTER NOT SAY ANOTHER WORD” [redacted] SAID THIS AT LEAST TWICE. THERE WERE HIS TWO “YOUNG MEN” THERE, AT LEAST TWO OF HIS FRIENDS AND I DO NOT KNOW WHO ELSE. COUPLED WITH THE FACT THAT THERE WAS ALCOHOL INVOLVED “I SHUT MY MOUTH”

[redacted] FURTHER STATED THAT I SHOULD GET MY” CRAP OUT OF HERE.”

#1 I WAS ALREADY PULLING A TRAILER. #2 THE TRAILER MENTIONED HAD BEEN TAKEN APART BY SYLVAN TRAILER AND WAS NOT SAFE TO PULL. OTHERWISE I AM SURE [redacted] WOULD HAVE HAD ME TAKE IT IN THIS DISASSEMBLED CONDITION.

[redacted] FURTHER SHOUTED THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO BOLT THE TRAILER BACK TOGETHER AND THAT I SHOULD BRING MY MEN OVER TO HIS PROPERTY TO GET IT ROLLING. I CANNOT IMAGINE BRINGING MY MEN ONTO HIS PROPERTY TO SPEND ANOTHER 15 HOURS WITH HAND TOOLS TO GET IT ROLLING WHILE ON THE SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY PROPERTY.

THIS WOULD HAVE TAKEN SO LONG BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE HAD TO JACK UP THE TRAILER COMPLETELY OFF THE GROUND AS BEFORE.

AS I SAID “I SHUT MY MOUTH” I DID HOWEVER DECIDE TO GATHER SOME SCIENTIFIC FACTS USING MY TAPE MEASURE AND CELLPHONE CAMERA. I PHOTOGRAPHED THESE FACTS:

#1 THE REAR SPRING BOLT IS 60 ¾ “ON CENTER AS IS THE TRAILER FRAME. #2 THE CENTER PIN THAT SYLVAN VALLEY TRAILER WELDED TO THE AXIL IS 61 5/8” ON CENTER.

#3 THIS CAUSES THE FRONT OF THE SPRING TO BE 62 3/8” OR MORE ON CENTER. THIS IS WHY THE FRONT OF THE SPRING DOES NOT LINE UP WITH THE SHACKLE OR TRAILER FRAME. THIS DIFERENCE IS WHY THE SPRING IS OUT OF ALIGNMENT BY APPX. 1 5/8”. AS THE SPRING IS LESS THAN 2” WIDE, IT BARELY STAYS UNDER THE FRAME.

THIS IS NOT A SAFE TRAILER TO PULL WITH ANY LOAD. I WILL HAVE TO GET IT RE-REPAIRED.

AT 4 pm [redacted] CAME UP TO ME AS I WAS UNDER MY TRAILER TAKING PICTURES. HE ORDERED ME OFF HIS PROPERTY. HE CLAIMED THAT HE WAS CLOSING UP. I BELIEVE SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY ACTUALLY CLOSES AT 5 pm.Desired Settlement: I AM ASKING FOR A RETURN OF THE $272.52 I PAID PLUS $50.00/ HOUR FOR THE 15 HOURS WE SPENT PLUS OTHER TIME INVOLVED AT $50.00/HOUR PLUS LEGAL COSTS.

AS OF 2/10/15 THESE COSTS ARE $1,022.50. THERE WILL BE ADITIONAL COSTS AS THE TRAILER IS NOT YET RIGHT. I ASK THIS ONLY BECAUSE SYLVAN TRAILER FORGOT THAT THE “CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT”.

INSTEAD SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY ASSUMED THAT IN MY CASE “THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS STUPID AND A RAT”. SYLVAN VALLEY TRAILER ALSO ASSUMES THAT THE BEST WAY, TO DEAL WITH A DISATISFIED CUSTOMER IS THE PROMISE OF BODILY HARM.

MY GOD! THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN SUCH A SIMPLE PROBLEM TO FIX, JUST MOVE THE AXIL CENTER PIN TO THE LEFT APPROX IMATELY 3/4” TO 1” WHEREVER THE PROPER CENTER IS. IF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DONE, MABY WITH A SMILE, I WOULD HAVE REFERRED OTHER CUSTOMERS TO SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY.

HELL NO!!!

SINCERELY

[redacted]

PS. ON 2/19/2015 I WENT TO THE CITRUS HEIGHTS POLICE DEPARTMENT WITH MY COMPLAINT AND MY TREPIDATIONS ABOUT PICKING UP MY TRAILER FROM SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY.

I SHOWED PART OF MY LETTER TO POLICE OFFICER JUSTIN [redacted] . OFICER [redacted] SUGGESTED THAT HE WOULD ACCOMPANY ME TO SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY, HE WOULD THEN STAND BY WHILE I HOOKED UP MY TRAILER AND TOOK IT WITH ME.

WE ARRIVED ABOUT 5:30 pm WELL AFTER THE 4pm CLOSING TIME, [redacted] HAD RUN ME OFF THE PROPERTY ON FEBRUARY 9.

OFFICER [redacted] AND AGREED THAT THE TRAILER BOLTS HAD BEEN REINSTALLED SUFFICIENTLY THAT THE TRAILER WAS LEGALTO PULL HOME EMPTY.

THE NEXT MORNING February 20, 2015, MY FORMAN ([redacted], WHO ALSO HELPED ME GET THE TRAILER RUNNING AFTER IT BROKE DOWN IN FAIR OAKS) AND I INSPECTED THE TRAILOR. WE CONCLUDED THAT SYLVAN TRAILER SUPPLY HAD NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX THE MISALLIGNMENT OF THE TRAILER SPRINGS THAT THEY CAUSED WHEN THEY WELDED THE AXIL MOUNT IN THE WRONG PLACE. THEY HAD ALSO NOT REPLACED THE U-BOLTS WHICH THEY HAD NOT CUT THE LONG ENDS OFF OF. AT THIS POINT THE SPRINGS ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE BOLTS ARE IN A SERIOUS BIND AND LOOK LIKE THEY WILL FORCE SOMETHING TO BREAK. WE BOTH CONCLUDED THAT I SHOULD TAKE IT TO ANOTHER TRAILER SHOP FOR ANOTHER OPINION AND POSSIBLE RE-REPAIR.

I AM TAKING IT TO [redacted] TRAILER SUPPLY IN RANCHO CODOVA

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:The fix that Sylvan trailer supply caused more problems than imaginable to me or any of the three mechanic shops showed it to, could believe. This "fix" was in fact a further misalignment of the springs on two plains. #1 The mounts were afterwords too wide and #2 not on the same plane in relation to each other. This "fix" afterwords required complete Removal, Repair and Re-installation by [redacted] Trailer of this axle. [redacted] trailer did this much more intensive work in only two work days for much less money and with a cheerful attitude. My complaint against Sylvan Trailer, is in six parts.#1 The price was too high considering they only worked on one side of the axle. $272.00+.#2 The work they did "improperly" tied up my trailer as unfit to pull for 6 weeks. #3 Sylvan Trailer refused to give adequate attention to the problem. #4 The apparent response to my concerns was to order me off the property under the threat of violence to my person. #5 I felt so strongly about Sylvan Trailer's threat that I had to take the highly unusual response of having a uniformed Citrus Heights Police Officer accompany me, as I retrieved my trailer two weeks later. I would never do this to my customers.#6 As to the response as to my concern that alcohol was involved, I believe that at 3:45 pm at a shop that deals with the public till 5:00 pm it is the responsibility of all company representatives to to be in a physical state to deal with the public in a mentally clear and non violent fashion. I believe most would agree.
