This letter is in regards to your demand for payment on the concrete
step removal and replacement work performed at the above mentioned property
As has already been discussed with you, the concrete stairs coming off of the city sidewalk do not meet the City of StPaul's local code requirements for maximum or minimum rise/run on exterior stairs
In addition, I have had three other companies review your installation and agree with me that the steps are incorrect and should not be paid for
Regardless of the above, your firm did indeed remove the existing concrete walks and dispose of them, as well as replace the steps to the home and sidewalk from the front steps to the long set of steps down to the city sidewalk
I have a bid from another concrete subcontractor in the amount of $2,to remove and replace current steps off of the city sidewalk
Therefore, we intend on paying you for your work less $2,to replace the concrete steps

I live in an apartment building that is currently being renovated by this company. The quality of their work is poor and the lack attention to detail. For instance, outside of each elevator there is a wooden wall decoration which consists of several horizontal boards from floor to ceiling. None of the boards are cut to the same length and most of the cuts are not even square. Also, in the hallways many of the glued on carpet squares are already coming up even though they were installed less than a month ago.
