Review: The business continues to charge me a membership after I cancelled my membership back in October of 2012. Synergy continued to charge me even until February of 2013 and stated on 6/**/13 that they cancelled my membership to satisfy me and provide customer service due to my many attempts to resolve my billing issues. Synergy owes me $120.50 in membership dues which they promised several times over the last month but have failed to refund. The manager [redacted] has be completely unhelpful and disrespectful in dealing with my issue. She has stated that “why are you complaining its just $100.00 its, not worth the trouble”. The management has been completely unprofessional in dealing with this matter and has provided no customer service.Desired Settlement: I am request the matter be fully resolved and a refund be processed immediately.

Review: Last year in summer I joined synergy gym and after a month I contacted this guys and did everything they told me to cancel membership and about a year later I was I was kept getting robo calls and random phone calls from several different numbers for almost every single day and sometimes even on the weekends. Recently I found that this was about synergy gym and debt collector agency said I owe them about a year of membership fees that im not even responsible for it, and for somehow this debt agent knew all my informations even my social security numbers and he harassed me by telling me your birthday recently passed? and this is your social security number? I was so intimidated and harassed in fact that he even knew my social security number and said it out on phone. I told him you guys are scamming consumers rights and your breaking the rules of FDCPA because this guys just literally called me almost everyday and left me robo message and even called me on weekends. I send me certified mail over a year ago and because this guys were harassing me I sent another via certified mail. After few research and reviews on yelp I wasnt the only victim getting scammed by synergy gym. It was alot of people and some people even tried to gather people and sue synergy gym for scamming membership fees. I even have the receipt of certified mail and synergy gym should know that this is serious crime scamming people.(they dont even have legal right to claim this).

No matter how many times I sent my certified letter to cancel my membership, I believe this guys dont even bother to cancel my membership and will keep harassing me with robo calls from collection agency.Desired Settlement: This business should stop scamming consumers and I would like Synergy to take my name of the list on collection agency, reimburse me for the credit report and a guarantee that this matter is taken care of once and for all.

Review: I signed up for a membership with Synergy Fitness about 2 years ago with no annual contract on a month to month basis. After using their services for several months, I decided I no longer wanted to continue with the membership. I called the office to cancel the membership and was lead to believe this was done successfully. From that time on I was not charged any more monthly fees. It has now been over a year and I just recently found the monthly fees have been accruing at Synergy Fitness and my account was sent to collection without any notice. I called the office and spoke to [redacted]. She was extremely rude and gave me two options:

1. Pay the money within 1 calendar day

2. Deal with my issue through the collection company

I proceeded to ask for a corporate number to file a complaint, but I was informed that Synergy Fitness is a franchise and there is no corporate number. I then asked for a way to file a complaint with [redacted] of the franchise, but I was informed that Synergy does not provide that information to their customers. I am going to pay the charges in order to save my perfect credit; however I feel like I have been abused and mislead as a consumer. Do I have any other avenues to dispute this other than the angry manager at the Synergy Fitness location?Desired Settlement: $298 that was paid 01/**/14

Review: In June of 2009 I sent Synergy Fit Club a certified letter asking them to cancel my monthly membership as I would be going to another gym and was told it would be taken care of accordingly. In April/May of 2012 I received a phone call from a collection agency telling me that I owed Synergy over $500. I went to the Club and was told by Kelley K[redacted] that the previous desk staff was careless and that there was nothing she could do. I found the receipt for the certified letter and went back to the club, where she finally looked at the computer and saw a note from the woman (Monique) who I had previously spoken to regarding the same problem. On 5/*/15 I was cc'd on an email from Ms. K[redacted] to Debra H[redacted] asking her to take me off the list of past due as I should not have been on the list. Debra H[redacted] responded saying that I was taken off the list.

As of 8/*/15 I received yet another letter from the collection agency regarding this problem. This billing issue has been going on since 2009,Desired Settlement: I now have to pay to check my credit, as I was assure this was taken care of three years ago as well as mail the letter to the collection agency, print up the email and spend time taking care of something that happened in 2009 in a state I'm no longer a resident of!

I would like Synergy to take my name of the list, reimburse me for the credit report and a guarantee that this matter is taken care of once and for all.

Review: I cancelled my membership with Synergy Fitness on February **, 2015, via certified letter. Synergy Fitness then (on 02/**/2015) charged me for my final month of membership one month early. This resulted in a double charge in February (i.e., I was charged for both February AND March on 02/**/2015). This double charge was NOT stipulated anywhere in my contract with Synergy Fitness. Because of this double charge, my bank account went below a minimum threshold that resulted in a $15.00 fee on my [redacted] bank account. I tried to resolve this with both [redacted] and [redacted] at Synergy Fitness, but they refused to accept responsibility for making an unauthorized charge. This was actually the second time this happened to me. Several months ago, Synergy Fitness increased my monthly fee without any authorization from me, which again resulted in my [redacted] bank account going below a minimum threshold and resulting in a $15.00 fee. At that time I also tried to resolve this with staff at Synergy Fitness, and they refused to resolve it. Because of these unauthorized charges by Synergy Fitness, I have been unfairly charged a total of $30.00 in fees by [redacted]. I have attempted to resolve this with both [redacted] and [redacted] at Synergy Fitness. They have refused to resolve it and have ceased to respond to my requests for them to resolve it. To resolve this issue, Synergy Fitness needs to refund to me $30.00 for the bank fees I unfairly experienced as a result of their unauthorized bank charges.Desired Settlement: Payment of $30.00 to [redacted] from Synergy Fitness for bank fees incurred due to unauthorized bank debits made by Synergy Fitness from [redacted] bank account of [redacted].

Review: Hi -

I joined Synergy Fitness January 2013. I joined the [redacted] location, and then moved and started at the Mulberry Street location.

On Wednesday, December [redacted] I heard from Performance Portfolio Management collection Agency( [redacted])

I received notification from this collection agency that I was being charged $573 for my lack of payments to Synergy Gym.

Synergy direct debits from my account each month. At some point my debit card must have changed and they could no longer charge me.

My qualms are:

1) Why did no one from synergy attempt to contact me regarding their inability to charge me monthly?

2) Why was I not notified that I would be sent to collections?

3) The collections agent could not itemize the amount, so I have no proof that its the correct amount that I owe.Desired Settlement: I would like for Synergy Fitness to contact the collections agency and refrain them from contacting me.

I would like to continue my membership with synergy fitness and pay off the debt I own through them, not a collection agency.
