Tell us why We have been responsive to every concern this client has hadWe did file for and pull building department permits for this job however there was a point that it was determined that the scope of the electrical work needed its own permit, which we applied for immediately and received There was no issue getting any permits because we are a licensed contractor and our plumber and electrician are both licensed as wellWe had a meeting with the husband and wife to go over the remaining items and a small punch list and we all mutually agreed to take care of themWe completed the list as discussed with the exception of installing a barn door that the homeowner special ordered which still has not arrivedOne of the issues was the client had another contractor working on their HVAC system and they were supposed put a vent into the bathroom wall which was not done prior to us tiling, as part of our discussion and accommodation we agreed to open up the tile wall to allow the HVAC contractor to install their vent, as it turned out because of existing conditions there was insufficient space for it in that location, we retiled including the cost for the new tile at no expense to the clientThe clients were satisfied with the work completed with the only items remaining being, installing their door when it arrives and closing out the building permits for which final inspections were scheduledA few days ago prior to final inspections being completed, we received a call from the client that there was a water leak so we sent our foreman over ASAP to see what the issue was, he was able to locate a defective "PEX connection inside a wall, so we sent our licensed plumber over to correct it There was some damage from the leaking water and the client was worried about the possibility of mold developingHe expressed interest in calling Serve Pro a water damage specialty firm who provided an estimate to eradicate the problem and concern, we authorized the client to have the work done by them and we would take care of the bill including a 2nd estimate to repair the interior surfaces all being restored to their original condition at no cost to the clientThe client now has a concern about a shower door that was installed by a 3rd party company who warranties their work and is satisfied that the door is installed correctly and safeThe client is asking about added an additional piece of glass to add stability which was not part of the original design or price and not neededWe have worked diligently to satisfy every concern this client has had and continue to do so, aside from the repairs related to the water leak and installing the missing door and final inspections by the town this job is doneIt is no fun when a mechanical part fails but unfortunately it does happen from time to time and it is more frustrating for both the home owner and contractor especially at the very end of a jobBeing a reputable contractor is relatively easy when things go well, but when there are a few very costly issues that is the true test, we continue to answer all emails and/or phone calls and have taken full responsibility to follow this through to the endFor this customer to dispute $18,is downright dishonest.Best Regards,Tom H [redacted] , owner here

Tell us why We have been responsive to every concern this client has had. We did file for and pull building department permits for this job however there was a point that it was determined that the scope of the electrical work needed its own permit, which we applied for immediately and received....

There was no issue getting any permits because we are a licensed contractor and our plumber and electrician are both licensed as well. We had a meeting with the husband and wife to go over the remaining items and a small punch list and we all mutually agreed to take care of them. We completed the list as discussed with the exception of installing a barn door that the homeowner special ordered which still has not arrived. One of the issues was the client had another contractor working on their HVAC system and they were supposed put a vent into the bathroom wall which was not done prior to us tiling, as part of our discussion and accommodation we agreed to open up the tile wall to allow the HVAC contractor to install their vent, as it turned out because of existing conditions there was insufficient space for it in that location, we retiled including the cost for the new tile at no expense to the client. The clients were satisfied with the work completed with the only items remaining being, installing their door when it arrives and closing out the building permits for which final inspections were scheduled. A few days ago prior to final inspections being completed, we received a call from the client that there was a water leak so we sent our foreman over ASAP to see what the issue was, he was able to locate a defective "PEX connection inside a wall, so we sent our licensed plumber over to correct it . There was some damage from the leaking water and the client was worried about the possibility of mold developing. He expressed interest in calling Serve Pro a water damage specialty firm who provided an estimate to eradicate the problem and concern, we authorized the client to have the work done by them and we would take care of the bill including a 2nd estimate to repair the interior surfaces all being restored to their original condition at no cost to the client. The client now has a concern about a shower door that was installed by a 3rd party company who warranties their work and is satisfied that the door is installed correctly and safe. The client is asking about added an additional piece of glass to add stability which was not part of the original design or price and not needed. We have worked diligently to satisfy every concern this client has had and continue to do so, aside from the repairs related to the water leak and installing the missing door and final inspections by the town this job is done. It is no fun when a mechanical part fails but unfortunately it does happen from time to time and it is more frustrating for both the home owner and contractor especially at the very end of a job. Being a reputable contractor is relatively easy when things go well, but when there are a few very costly issues that is the true test, we continue to answer all emails and/or phone calls and have taken full responsibility to follow this through to the end. For this customer to dispute $18,000 is downright dishonest.Best Regards,Tom H[redacted], owner here...

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The job is NOT complete. The video above shows shower doors which were installed by business, clearly this is unsafe and unfinished. The photos shows FAILED building inspection and the other shows the permit with the LAW indicating NOT to take final payment UNTIL inspections have been passed. Trying to obtain final payment, when inspections have NOT be made, nor passed is ILLEGAL! The video is indication of only 1 item that needs addressing, there are many more...
