Review: This company called me (despite my phone # being on National Do Not Call List) and claimed to represent [redacted] Magazine, offered a discount for a renewed subscription. I forgot had renewed and paid [redacted] on 01-25-13. When I refused to give my credit information over the phone, the representative said I would be sent a bill for three years' subscription, for $104.85. I received this bill on Saturday 04-27-13. I have contacted [redacted] Magazine, this company is not listed with [redacted] as an agent. I have written an email complaint to [redacted]'s Member Services address. I am emailing Synergy and cancelling the purported subscription, and copying [redacted] Magazine.Desired Settlement: I would like Synergy close their file with my name, to stop billing me, to put that closure in writing and send it to my home address, and then to cease and desist any further communication with me.

On 4.23.13 Ms. [redacted] was notified by our sales team to offer

her to renew her [redacted] magazine. Once she showed interest our

processing department reached her to set up a billing arrangement. Ms.

[redacted] was not comfortable providing a credit card so we offered to over ride our

system and invoice her. Our caller identify themselves representing

Synergy Subscriptions. We do not know when anyone expires however, no

subscriber gets double copies or loses the time they currently have left.

We are a third party renewal company authorized to renew a array of

magazines. Synergy is not a agent to [redacted] therefor it is accurate

that we would not be listed. We are a sub-agent to SubCo which is a agent

to Smithsonian. Her invoice states this. In addition, her invoice

has Synergy's letterhead and logo. We do not represent Smithsonian

magazine nor are we affiliated with them. Every customer is

given our company name, toll free phone number and our web-site. On

4.27.13 Ms. [redacted] email our firm to cancel and we have done this due to our 30

day cancellation policy.

Review: This company called my home stating that they represented a magazine to which I do subscribe. The operator said that the subscription was to expire and they were offering me the opportunity to renew. Unfortunately I did renew with them. They did have access to my subscription information, address etc. After this they called repeatedly even after requests to be removed from their telephone contact list. Different callers would state that they were not aware that we had been contacted before. The major issue is that the company kept renewing the subscription and having the magazine charge my account WITHOUT my permission. I repeatedly stated that I would not renew through this company's services only to find an email in my box thanking me for renewing my subscription. The Atlantic Monthly was notified and I believe they have taken steps to rectify my husband's subscription, but a few weeks ago the calls started again and I received a Thank You from The Atlantic for renewing a friend's gift subscription. I had not authorized this renewal. That it came just after Synergy began calling again was telling. I called The Atlantic and had my account flagged. I believe Synergy is behind these unauthorized charges and ask that they strike all personal information regarding me and my account from their records. I want to never hear from them again especially by telephone.Desired Settlement: Stop renewals of The Atlantic Monthly without consent. Stop calling my home. We are both senior citizens and do not with to be repeatedly disturbed by this company.
