In response to Wolfers Lighting customer [redacted]’s complaint, the light fixture purchased from our Waltham location did in fact fail after 2 months of use. When the client alerted us of the problem, we instructed her to return the fixture and we would contact the factory for a credit of the...
defective item. However, after inspecting the fixture, it was clear the item failed as a result of an incorrect installation and not a manufacturer defect. Per the instructions and images, this fixture has a decorative “lid” that should sit well above the glass allowing air to circulate and heat to disburse. The electrical contractor installed the fixture with the lid tight to the glass bowl trapping in heat. The lack of air flow caused the fixture to “overheat”. We notified [redacted] of the situation through email and attached pictures of the returned item illustrating the closed lid, as well as a picture of the item assembled correctly. We informed her we would continue to contact the manufacturer for a credit, but could not guarantee they would honor the return as it was not a factory defect. This complaint with the Revdex.com was filed the next day not even allowing us time to contact the manufacturer for a resolution. We have since received confirmation from the manufacturer they will accept the item as a defective unit and a full refund has already been issued to [redacted]. Wolfers Lighting followed normal protocols and tried to resolve the issue amicably. We have email correspondence and pictures to support the above statement if needed. However, as a refund has already been issued to the customer, it may not be necessary to pursue this case any further. Thank you for your consideration. [redacted]
