T & A's Welding Fabrication & Repair

We requested a quote for Welding Fabrications to fix our pool gate, as promised they emailed a quote that was very reasonable. After a few days, [redacted] the owner asked to come and inspect the gate to make sure the quote was appropriate. He also needed to get half down to start the job. That was a Friday, he said they would be back Tues or Wed the following week to finish. My husband and I agreed, signed a contract, and paid half down. I gave them until Thurs of the following week before I called, they called back and said they were really busy, and would be there the next day. Again no show. I was starting to think we were taken, and we emailed around the 8th of Oct, [redacted] apologized and said he had medical issues. He offered to"squeeze us in" or issue a refund, sick of waiting we asked for a refund. On Oct 24th we had not yet received the check, 3 days later he emailed us, and blamed his secretary for not mailing the check...said he would put it in the mail that day,by the 29th nothing again. It is now Nov. 2, this all began on Sept. 21. It doesn't seem like a long time, but he keeps saying it is in the mail,it never comes. I would strongly recommend never using this company, as I feel they are very dishonest. By the way, he cashed our check the day he picked it up. This is a very long winded complaint, but it is very upsetting.
