Review: On August 14, 2013 my wife and I signed a used vehicle contract with [redacted] dba TC Autos . Shortly after the contract was finalized we began experiencing mechanical problems with the vehicle. After spending thousands on multiple attempts to repair the vehicle engine and transmission our mechanic called it a lemon. A vehicle history report revealed that the vehicle pertaining to our contract had a tampered odometer ( 04/01/2010 - 202,933 miles and 05/10/12 - 126,952). Our attempts to settle this matter with the business owners have proven unsuccessful.Desired Settlement: First, we ask that [redacted] dba TC Autos process a refund. We want this as we do not think an exchange for another vehicle is a reliable solution. We feel that it is appropriate to ask that the dealer assume responsibility for the amount financed for neglecting due diligence. Additionally, we ask that [redacted] dba TC Autos cover the $2,628.38 we spent in pointless repairs on the vehicle.

Response:
Dear Ms. [redacted],
I received your email regarding an error in a complaint (ID [redacted]) that I recently filed.
"It appears that you mention 2 companies in one complaint filing. Please clarify which company you are filing the complaint for? Please also provide a copy of the contract for review."
In August 2012 we entered a used vehicle contract with TC Autos – located at 8802 Winter Gardens Blvd. Lakeside, CA 92040. In 2013, that car dealership changed its name to [redacted], to my best knowledge [redacted] is still the owner. I wrote the company name as "[redacted] dba TC Autos" on the complaint file as this was the full name found on the company website. I have attached a screenshot of this web page, in addition to the requested copy of our contract. Please feel free to make the appropriate corrections based on this information or let me know if further action is needed on my part.
Thank You
Regards,
Review: We purchased a truck from them the first week of october, we thought we had been financed through [redacted]. 2 weeks later they ask us to come in as we were going to go through a different credit company and we had to sign a new contract. we went in there and signed a new contract, and they put down a date 2 weeks prior to us signing. I am going blind and deaf from a brain tumor disease, they knew this, and said they would fill out the date and other information, just to sign where they pointed. Now, not even 2 weeks later, the truck is broke down. We are under our 30 days if they had not lied about the date that we signed the 2nd contract. They are refusing to help us, and I believe they sold us a lemon. When calling and asking for help. They said sorry your on your own, tow it here and we will fix it but your gonna have to pay for the tow and the repair. I feel that they have taken great advantage of us. When calling they were rude, and laughed at me and told me sorry but your on your own. I asked if I could just take the truck back, they said no. I think they should have at least helped us get towed to their lot, even if we had to pay for the repair. They just sold us a broke car, and then refused to help us do anything about it.Desired Settlement: I want to take this truck back, pay for the time I have had it, and get the rest of my money back.

These customers purchased a Ford Ranger on 10/02/12. On
the morning of 11/05/12, I received a phone call that the truck would not start
and they wanted me to tow it in and fix it. After further discussion it sounded
like the problem was the starter and if they wanted to tow it to me I would be
glad to look at the truck, but the starter was not covered on the warranty,
neither is the towing. At which point she became angry and started to yell,
curse me, and demand I take responsibility for the repair of the truck. Though
being yelled at, and cursed at, I remained calm and respectful in explaining
that the towing and the repairs are their responsibilities, not mine. A copy of
our warranty is included which shows that the starter is not included in
covered items, and that the warranty clearly states that towing is not covered.
They were financed by [redacted] Corporation. In
the funding process there were several papers, including the contract, which
needed to be resigned in order to correct a typographical error I made in
misspelling the client’s name. This is standard procedure as I was asked by
[redacted] to get corrected copies signed. If you wish to verify their
procedures on this you can call [redacted] at ###-###-####.
In every Auto Finance contract is a clause that says if
they can’t get financing, they will have to return the vehicle. In discussing
this point we mentioned that there were other companies that we could go
through for financing. This was not needed as after the corrected papers were
signed and received by [redacted] they were funded.
When the customers first sat down with us, we were told
that one of them had a brain tumor which could lead to her going blind or
losing her hearing, and that she is scheduling medical treatment, but she was
not yet disabled. She is the second signer on the contract, and in both cases
when they were in our office signing papers, the originating signer was
present. We could not, nor would we, take advantage of her as she has
described.
As to returning the truck; when they purchased the truck
they had a Contract Cancellation Option which allowed them to change their
minds and return the truck with-in 72 hrs. I explained to her that we were well
beyond that option, and it is either a warranty issue or a financing issue, at
which point she became even more angry and abusive.
I am sorry that the customers are unhappy with their
situation, but they are the party responsible for maintenance and repair of
their vehicle. If it becomes a warranty issue I will be more than happy to
accept my responsibility.
Thank you,
Clair Ford

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I do not accept the business message. I was not able to leave a response why. The business is lying. They know I am disabled already, they used my disability money to approve us for the car. Second, they asked us to come in and sign the second contract and that they were going to run us through a second credit company due to the fact they pay more money to the car lot than credit acceptance. After being harrassed for more and more stuff and them coming to our house a few times despite the fact we kept giving him our phone number and he kept saying he did not have it, for 2 plus weeks we were not even sure if we were approved yet, and the business clearly stated near that we were not approved by credit acceptance due to the time lapse. We were under the impression we were being financed by someone other than credit acceptance, and despite everything this business sold us a lemon. We were not even sure what was going on till Oct 28 th when we got the welcome call from credit acceptance. The business is practicing shady activity, and I never asked him to pay for our car or for him to assume responsibility, but when we called and informed him 31 days after purchasing the car that it was broke down, he said sorry but your on your own, and when I asked him to please tow it to his shop and we would pay for the repair, he asked me quite rudely if I ever owned a vehicle before. We had just spent 1500 dollars down payment and needed the car for work, in order to make our truck payment due in a week, and all I asked him for was a tow from a truck he admitted he had and was just sitting there. He could have helped us get to his shop. That is all I asked for, I feel we have been screwed around and taken advantage of. The business needs to learn some organization, and they also false advertise how the credit approval process works. We have lost 3 days pay, reapir costs and stress,on a vehicle purchased from them last month.

Business
