Complaint number [redacted] I sold Mr. [redacted] a dell OptiPlex 740 for 75 dollars I advised Mr. [redacted] he had a 90 day warranty that covered hardware only and that included the motherboard the cpu the heat sink...
cdrom/dvd/rw drive the power supply and hard drive . Mr. [redacted] called me and stated that the PC that he bought from me was running very slowly. He brought computer over and I checked it out. The computer had become infected with malware and viruses I removed these items and advised Mr. [redacted] that I was not responsible for software issues . I also did a free restore of the operating system and installed office 2013 and adobe reader and java and flash player I showed Mr. [redacted] that the computer and now ran perfectly. Mr. [redacted] took computer home had it for a week or so and called up complaining that the computer was running slowly again. I looked at computer advised Mr. [redacted] that certain adult websites contain and viruses and that they would continue to attack his system if he frequented them. This time his computer so infected that it required a fresh restore of operating system . I then removed the malware and again the computer was working fine when he left my office. Even though I don’t warranty software I did this for him for the second time free of charge. After a few days he called again stating that the pc was running slowly and he wanted it fixed and that It was my fault it was running slow. I advised him he had it infected again from the adult porn sites. I told him this time it will be 50.00 dollars to fix it, he got upset and became belligerent. I then advised Mr. [redacted] if he was unpleased with my work to go somewhere else maybe they can do a better job, I then disconnected the call

I am rejecting this response because: The information in the response is incorrect. At no time did the business/ business owner advise that the 90 day warranty only included the items that he now suggest that he stated. He simply stated that if there was ANY problem with the computer within 90 days that it was covered. Secondly, the issue was not that the computer was running slowly( That was discovered prior to ownership which the business owner discovered himself) and was through absolutely no use of my own. The issue with the computer was that it was NOT WORKING at all . The business owner was unreasonable and would not even listen to the issue that the computer was having. The business owner just talked over me , made other excuses or reasons that he thought may be the issue which did not apply and ultimately told me to get someone else to work on the computer. I have since hired another tech that found that the system was defective from the time of sale. At no time did the business owner mention any of the information he states in his response.
