We have a clear sign posted outside of our buildingI fielded multiple calls personally from customer and gave clear and precise directions to our locationSadly, GPS tends to send customers to a location CLOSE to us, but not our lotAs to the question regarding fees, I would like to reference
the California B&P code that governs repossession agencies [and 7507.9(d)]There were more items we had to clean out and store, but per California laws protecting privacy, I cannot disclose the full listTo answer the question about credit cards, I believe the customer is correct regarding TOW COMPANIES, they do accept credit cards, we however are a REPOSSESSION COMPANY, and thus do not fall under the same requirementsI also offer a receipt to all customers any time money is exchanged

Customer called in stating she was out of town and wanted to send a family member to redeem the repossessed collateral, I stated we can only release to person on the redemption paperwork, in this case, only herShe then demanded that we stay later that our holiday schedule to accommodate herI
told her she also needed to have the proper paperwork from the local police department, to which she claimed she did not haveI told customer we would be able to help her the following business day, being Monday 11/I have attached a copy of the paperwork that she obtained from the police department, that is dated for the 30thWe try to schedule same day appointments for our customers, but if they cannot make it to our office before we close, and do not have the proper documentation, we are unable to do so

Review: Recently had a car repossessed on June 10th. When I tried to get an address from the company I could not get one to get the car. When I finally got the address and got their they told me I could not get the car yet I had to wait another 2 hours when I already paid all the fees. When I finally got the car back with all of the person belongings I went through all of it to find out my iPod was missing. When I told the worker that have me the car he sat their and argued with me about it. I told him to call the other Employees to ask them. Finally an employee by the name of ** or [redacted] said he had it in his truck and said he would drop it off at my house later on that day. Waited all day for him and never showed up. I finally tryed to get ahold of the boss of the company An was told he was on a call and will call me back. Not one minute later ** or [redacted] gave me a call I asked where it is and he sat their and gave me a story how his truck broke down and coul not make and I told him the law that person belongings stay at the business or holding lot. They do not go in employees hand and their personal vehicles. First his story was he took it out of the car so no one would take it the at the end of the conversation the iPod fell out of the bag and he picked it up an put it in his pocket. When I finally got the iPod back found out that he was using it. Called the company and told them that and said I would like to talk to the owner and once again he was busy. Later that night I wrote up a e-mail to [redacted] the owner and that next morning I got a call from the office manager an said I was not able to talk to [redacted]. Their was about four or five phone calls to get ahold of the owner but never got a response back. The office manager said that he would reimburse me for the money I had to pay to get the car. That's been weeks since he said that and still got nothing. Then I called once again and he said it was sent out and he could not do anything for me.

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I think since [redacted] can't take responsibility for his employees or his business and I was told I was going to get a settlement I should be able to get the price for the tow and the money I had to pay to get my personal belongings. That would come out to around four hundred dollars.

Business' Initial Response

As it states in the customers complaint, the item in question was returned. We do not have a policy in place that would "reimburse" debtors for any reason, least of all for property that was not lost or damaged. We even delivered the misplace item to Tracy, CA, as to not inconvenience the customer further. We are sorry for the slight inconvenience and confusion regarding the item being misplaced and returned about 4 hours later.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

The item that you are talking about was not returned in four hours later. When I finally got it the item was used. Your Company broke a law and your employee did not even have a straight answer. It kept changing every hour. Also for no reimbursements where is the reimbursement that promised me over the phone.

Business' Final Response

As stated before, the item in question was returned and we do not have a policy that would "reimburse" debtors. I'm not sure what other information I can supply to satisfy the complaint from Ms. [redacted] or Mr. [redacted].

Review: my car was repossessed and taken to the tow yard on Tuesday nov 24th I called them on Friday nov 27th to pick it up by either my self or mother after they I told me I can only pick it up I made a couple of rude comments and the man on the phone screamed at me and told me he was not letting me pick my car up on this day. when I got back into town the man would not answer the phone to let me pick up my car costing me additional charges Monday when I went to pick up my car. my finance co also tried to call and there was no answer.Desired Settlement: I want the money that was charged to me for the 3 extra days it stayed there because the man who answered was being petty
