We have a clear sign posted outside of our buildingI fielded multiple calls personally from customer and gave clear and precise directions to our locationSadly, GPS tends to send customers to a location CLOSE to us, but not our lotAs to the question regarding fees, I would like to reference the California B&P code that governs repossession agencies [and 7507.9(d)]There were more items we had to clean out and store, but per California laws protecting privacy, I cannot disclose the full listTo answer the question about credit cards, I believe the customer is correct regarding TOW COMPANIES, they do accept credit cards, we however are a REPOSSESSION COMPANY, and thus do not fall under the same requirementsI also offer a receipt to all customers any time money is exchanged
Customer called in stating she was out of town and wanted to send a family member to redeem the repossessed collateral, I stated we can only release to person on the redemption paperwork, in this case, only herShe then demanded that we stay later that our holiday schedule to accommodate herI told her she also needed to have the proper paperwork from the local police department, to which she claimed she did not haveI told customer we would be able to help her the following business day, being Monday 11/I have attached a copy of the paperwork that she obtained from the police department, that is dated for the 30thWe try to schedule same day appointments for our customers, but if they cannot make it to our office before we close, and do not have the proper documentation, we are unable to do so.?
