This company provide me a quote to removing a sidewalk, and install a patio and 2 curbs and 2 porch areas. I paid him in full $5,700.00. He poured a large amount of concrete in several area's without enough finishers to work the fresh concrete before it started to cure, and several area's they did not remove the forms when they should have. They claim to complete work of excellence for each consumer. I did not find this to be true, when I mentioned my dissatisfaction of finished product , the company immediately became defensive . I do not trust this companies workmanship and would like to hire another company to try to correct the flaws caused by this company.

I feel as though I went above and beyond on this specific project for ***. Regardless of forms being pulled at the time we pulled them, the finished product looks good. I believe *** would have been dissatisfied with any company or finished product completed for him. I heard negative comments about other concrete companies while I was there completing this project and it showed me that he wants concrete to look 100% perfect, which is impossible in this line of work. No concrete is "perfect". It also makes it very difficult to my work when a customer is standing over my shoulder and pulling me away from my work to double check other areas and discuss other things throughout my entire work day, and this is exactly what *** did. Homeowner called me the very next morning upset about the color of the concrete and I explained how concrete needs time to bleach out, which it did bleach out. Homeowner also complained about air holes in the concrete on the side where the forms came off. I finished these sides for him as he asked even after explaining that dirt would be backfilled and cover the sides and no company finishes those sides of any concrete project. He wanted those tiny imperfections to be worked on further when they won't be seen and I had already spent time on these hidden sides of the concrete for him. I cannot provide a refund for any of my work when it is completed to contract terms as well as feeling like I went above and beyond what contract entailed. I apologize for any dissatisfaction and I am not sure how I would have ever completed the project to his satisfaction. Thank you

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because his response had nothing to do with the complaint. There are 2 spots on the sidewalk that has grind marks and do not match. My front porch steps are unacceptable and I will have to buy tile to put over them to make them usable. I still either want $1,000 back for all of the rework that needs to be done or he needs to come and cut off the 2 steps and redo them and address the 2 areas on the sidewalk with the unacceptable grind marks. Really quite frankly I would prefer that he not come back to my home to work on anything else. I would rather he just refund me the $1,000 as I have already spent $500 on the tile and it will cost another $500 to get the work completed.

Sincerely

I hired you to pour concrete for my patio with work starting May 2, 2018. However, there are issues with coloring, stamping and cracking. You also backed your truck on the sidewalk and damaged it and I have been calling for you to return and finish the work.

The owner of the company *** reached out to me today. As of now, he said he will finish the project and fix what needs to be done next week. Is there a way to hold off or cancel the complaint?

came to my home on today 5/31/18 and basically told me that I am screwed. He is not willing to do any additional work.

I have discussed Mr. issues with him multiple times and have stayed in contact. I offered a solution to the issue of the concrete pads not being an exact color match and thoroughly explained how concrete works when multiple different concrete trucks are used to pour, plus when part of the patio is covered and exposed to less sunlight. Customer did not want to take the solution of using a second coat of sealer on the pads that cured out slightly lighter than other ones even though it was needed and would solve this issue. Customer and I both agreed that the hair line crack was to be used as a saw cut point in the sidewalk, as it was the second time we poured that concrete pad against an egress window and it hair line cracked in the same straight line as the first time. This issue was mutually resolved. I have been to customers home to meet with him and showed him, by way of rolling a second coat of sealer on part of one lighter pad, that the second coat of sealer would match the other pads, but was angrily kicked off the property as now he states he is going to sue me. I was not allowed to second coat the patio with sealer to fix his slight color issue and I was also not allowed to even take photos of the patio. I tried everything I could to compromise with customer, other than give him a refund as I did adhere to everything in our contract and the color issue being out of my control during curing process.

"Homeowner kicked me off his property after clearly showing him the solution to the problem, plus ensuring that I will scrape the concrete splatter off small portion of siding. I have also informed him that I will be getting a permit from the city of Wentzville for the one sidewalk pad that the cement truck backed onto. Customer clearly stated he does not want any further work to be done when I attempted to second coat his patio with sealer on 5/31/2018. He only wanted me off his property. He has informed me that his lawyer will be in contact. Homeowner only wishes to sue over the issue for money, he has no desire for further work to be done."
