Dear Sir or Madam:This letter is in response to your letter dated June 15, 2017, regarding a complaint made by Aaron *** against my company, T & L Mobile Home ServiceMy response to this complaint is as follows:In June 2016, Mr *** contacted me regarding his air conditioner (a/c) which
was not workingHis a/c was not repairable and I told him that I could install a new a/c and that the cost would be over $2,I also advised Mr*** that I had a used a/c and it would cost approximately $1,to remove old a/a, patch duct work, and install used a/cI advised Mr***, as I do all my customers who buy used a/c units from me, that I personally check out all units and make need repairs so that the used air conditioners are in proper working orderHowever, I also advised Mr*** that it was my policy to only give a day warranty for used a/c, that I could not guarantee the life of a used a/cMr*** accepted the used a/c price and conditions and I installed the a/c.Approximately two months later, Mr *** called me and stated he was having problems with his a/c, that it wasn't cooling right, that it had been running for two days and not cooling the houseI advised Mr*** to turn of the a/c until I could service the unit and that I would be there the following morning.When I arrived at Mr***'s house the next morning, I noticed that the a/c was still running and the a/c unit was"iced up." I asked Mr*** why he did not turn off the a/c unit as I instructed and he advised me that he felt the a/c was still keeping the house "sort of cool" and, therefore, did not turn it offI inspected the a/c unit and advised Mr*** that the compressor was damaged due to him leaving the a/c unit on for two days which caused the unit to "ice up" damaging the compressorThe price for a new installed compressor was over $1,Mr*** did not want to pay for a new compressor but demanded that I fix this unit at my costI refused because it was my professional opinion that the a/c unit was broke due t the customer's neglect.I have owned and operated my business for the past 30+ yearsDuring these years, I have repaired and sold used air conditioners, and I have never had an unsatisfied customer over a used a/cIn my professional 30+ years of experience, it was my conclusion that Mr***'s a/c unit was left on for more than two days and, therefore, iced up causing damage to the compressorI would have been willing to work with Mr*** if it wasn't for his neglect.Please advise if additional information is requiredThank you.Sincerely,T & L MOBIL HOME SERVICEThomas LConnelley217-433-

I am rejecting this response because:
I understand his point but I had turned off the ac when he asked and had just turned it back on about 10 mins before him arriving. If he "repairs" every used unit then how would it have gone out and burned up a compressor within 2 months. If it was 100% working then it wouldn't have stopped cooling my house to where I would have to run it so much
