Revdex.com received the attached response from the business on 6-16-17(See file for original document.)First off I am not the co owner of T&M Painting my husband is the sole proprietor, I do handle the bookwork and banking for him.Secondly my husband did hand them an old insurance policy only because he picked one up out of the drawer and did not check datesWhen Mr [redacted] called him about it I looked at the date and told him that it was the wrong one but it didn't matter as I was getting a new insurnce company and was waiting for the papers to come through which they did the same nightThey sent me a copy to give to the customer to let them know we were insuredMrs [redacted] called them to verify and did not receive a call backI then got on the phone and called, they verified she had called and left a message on the machine but it was Saturday and my contact didn't work on that dayHe was going to call me to verify that she in fact was a client and could be given the information she had asked forI never heard anymore about it.My husband showed up on the day they agreed on for him to start work and was then told they wanted to cancel the contractUnfortunately the down payment they had given was already spent on things needed to do the job and other thingsWe didn't think about them canceling or we wouldn't have spent the money. My husband told them we would return the money but could not do it in one lump sum and we could pay them in $paymentsAnd they agreedat the time looking forward it was possible however we couldn't start that month because the time slotted for that month for working was given to them and he had to get a nother customerHe is a one person company so we go one customer at a time Well November came and he still had no workI went to see Mrs [redacted] and gave her $and appoligized I told her the situation that he had to no work and would try to give her something monthlyShe said she understood and we could start JanuaryHe did not work in January when she called in February I sent a check for $and still told her he wasn't workingWe have assurd them we would not cheat them out of the money but we also have to pay our bills we are months behind with shut off notices.Sincerley,MaryAnn M [redacted] for Tom M [redacted] T&M Painting Co

I am not sure what this response means First I was understandably confused by co-ownership because MrsM [redacted] 's name is on the paperworkSecondly we did call about the insurance and was assured the cohad current insurance We asked to see a copy and we were given a blank insurance paper from a company that was printed off the internet with nothing filled in not even the name of T&M painting or any particulars Thirdly MrM [redacted] offered to let us out of the contract, we did not fire him He was gracious to do so and we accepted We could not let him do the job without insurance Fourthly we were never told that anything was spent on things to do the job at our house As color chips had not been chosen I do doubt this but had we been told and the products brought to us we would have taken them and subtracted the cost from the deposit This is all a moot point I think we were very understanding of their position in asking only for monthly payments, excepting December We had to make several calls to get a payment in the beginning of February We have heard nothing since until we called repeatedly in MayWe rec'd no payment then We have only recouped $of our original $ We are willing to take this back to the original payment plan of $per month, provided they stick with itWe do not want this to go any farther

It seems that there is a lot of miscommunication between husbands and wivesIt was our husbands that talked and the wives that seem to be handling the situationSo the agreement was $a month and I will see to it that they get their money and when he does get back to work we will pay it off the remainder in a lump sum.Mary Ann

It seems that there is a lot of miscommunication between husbands and wives. It was our husbands that talked and the wives that seem to be handling the situation. So the agreement was $100. a month and I will see to it that they get their money and when he does get back to work we will pay it off the remainder in a lump sum.Mary Ann

he picked one up out of the drawer and did not check dates. When Mr [redacted] called him about it I looked at the date and told him that it was the wrong one but it didn't matter as I was getting a new insurnce company and was waiting for the papers to come through which they did the same night. They sent me a copy to give to the customer to let them know we were insured. Mrs [redacted] called them to verify and did not receive a call back. I then got on the phone and called, they verified she had called and left a message on the machine but it was Saturday and my contact didn't work on that day. He was going to call me to verify that she in fact was a client and could be given the information she had asked for. I never heard anymore about it.My husband showed up on the day they agreed on for him to start work and was then told they wanted to cancel the contract. Unfortunately the down payment they had given was already spent on things needed to do the job and other things. We didn't think about them canceling or we wouldn't have spent the money. My husband told them we would return the money but could not do it in one lump sum and we could pay them in $400. payments. And they agreed. at the time looking forward it was possible however we couldn't start that month because the time slotted for that month for working was given to them and he had to get a nother customer. He is a one person company so we go one customer at a time Well November came and he still had no work. I went to see Mrs [redacted] and gave her $400. and appoligized I told her the situation that he had to no work and would try to give her something monthly. She said she understood and we could start January. He did not work in January when she called in February I sent a check for $100. and still told her he wasn't working. We have assurd them we would not cheat them out of the money but we also have to pay our bills we are 2 months behind with shut off notices.Sincerley,MaryAnn M[redacted] for Tom M[redacted] T&M Painting Co
