Blackhawk Floors has gone above and beyond with Mrand Mrs [redacted] We have offered to repair the damage, that was caused from them not maintaining their homes environment per manufacurer's guidelines, at a 50% reduced rate We have told the customer on more than one occasion about the importance of the homes environmentThis is why they already had plans to install a humidification system in their home when we arrived the last timeBlackhawk Floors has not abandoned our customerOur offer to repair the floor at a discounted rate is still availableBlackhawk Floors stands behind our product and installations, we just can not do any more repairs for free

In response to complaint# *** filed by our customerWe had not completed the project and had not issued a final invoice at the time the complaint was filedThere were some other trades that needed to finish up prior to us getting back in to finish our workWe have been and are currently in
contact with the customerOur customer did express some concerns about the floor and we are working with them to resolve the concerns

The owner of Blackhawk is not being truthful. The first repair was only to glue down a couple of edges. No mention of humidity was made then or at the time of sale. In November they repaired a few cracked boards, checked the humidity and said we should have no further problems. Both times he said the humidity was acceptable. In December we called with more cracked boards, he came out to look and said our humidity was low. It was at this time he said our humidity was low and we had humidifiers installed. We would have done that at the original installation if we had been told this could be a problem but the owner never mentioned it. Apparently he is unfamiliar with how the product performs under part time home residents. He now wants $to repair the floor (we have already spent an additional $to buy replacement flooring). We called another DuChateau flooring dealer and he said this was unacceptable and couldn't believe Blackhawk wouldn't stand behind their product and installation. If Blackhawk (THE SO CALLED EXPERTS) would have told us to be sure to keep the humidity as a certain level we would have bought the humidifiers at the start. If they thought the flooring we purchased was not a good fit for a part time resident they should have said so and we would have stayed with our tile rather than pay them $for a crappy product

Temperature (Temp) and Relative Humidity (RH) were checked at the time of acclimation and at the time of installation and were found to be acceptable.  This is a second home for the homeowners and is empty much of the year. The customer was told about the importance of the Temp and RH before and during installation and again in April 2017, November 2017, and December 2017 when we did repairs at no charge for LOW RH. The floor was experiencing delamination and face checking. These are all consistent with LOW RH, an environmental condition. The customer did pay for one box of material in October 2017. At each one of these times, the RH was found to be below 30% which is LOW. The homeowner claimed that they were never informed about RH and were again told how important RH and Temp are to the success of their floor. We would not do free repairs, which is why I know the homeowner was educated about the environment. In January 2018 we were again contacted about the same issues with the floor. At this time the homeowners said they were having a Humidifier installed on the home. They were told after 3 prior repairs that they would have to pay for this repair. This repair was quoted at a 50% discounted rate. They again said they were never told about the RH, even though they had already planned on having the humidification system installed. We did 3 repairs at no charge, giving the customer the benefit of the doubt that they were not informed about how important it is to maintain their environment. We have not turned our back on them and will support them moving forward. We just can not keep doing repairs for free because of an issue that the homeowner only recently decided to address.

Blackhawk Floors has gone above and beyond with Mr. and Mrs. [redacted]. We have offered to repair the damage, that was caused from them not maintaining their homes environment per manufacurer's guidelines, at a 50% reduced rate.  We have told the customer on more than one occasion about the importance of the homes environment. This is why they already had plans to install a humidification system in their home when we arrived the last time. Blackhawk Floors has not abandoned our customer. Our offer to repair the floor at a discounted rate is still available. Blackhawk Floors stands behind our product and installations, we just can not do any more repairs for free.

Review: In 2006 Mr[redacted] was hired by me to install the roof materials an my new construction home. The work was completed and he was paid in full. Three years ago several shingles fell off my roof. I noticed that these shingles did not have any nail holes in them. Though I left several messages on Mr. [redacted] phone I was unable to contact Mr[redacted] to address this issue. I chalked this up to an oversight on Mr. [redacted] part and hired another roofer to re-install these shingles. Three days ago another shingle fell off. Again there were no nails holding this shingle on. There are now several shingles that are visibly out of line and are about to fall off. These shingles do not have any nails holding them in place. There are shingles on my roof without the required amount of roofing nails as required by International Residential Code and by the shingle manufacturers installation instructions. Recently I have left messages on Mr. [redacted] phone to contact me. He has not returned any of my calls. I sent him a certified letter on 8/25/2014, describing my situation.Desired Settlement: I would like Mr[redacted] to inspect my roof and fasten all shingles with the required amount of roofing nails as required by International Residential Code and by the shingle manufacturers installation instructions.
