Review: I purchased a vehicle from this dealership from an ad posted on Craigslist. The ad had mentioned the vehicle was in great shape and runs great. When I test drove the vehicle I had noticed that the transmission felt a little rough going from 1st to 2nd gear. I asked the seller about the transmission and they replied its a small fix. And given the price of the vehicle and reputation of the company, I took their word for it, and seemed reasonable. I purchased a 2002 honda accord for $2950.00 plus sales taxes which came out to about $3300.00 total. Two days later I brought my vehicle to a reputable transmission mechanic and was told the transmission was completely shot and needs a complete overhaul, and that cost roughly between $2500-$3500. I then later contacted TNT automite and they wanted to sell me a transmission for an additional $1500.00 with 150,00 miles on it, which I declined and felt that isn't fair enough. I feel for a reputable company they should at least cover most of the cost for the repairs. I feel I got ripped off and am now stuck with a vehicle that cannot be driven. Desired Settlement: For a company that is in the auto business, they should be fully aware of these serious mechanical issues before they seem to consumers at a high cost. I would like full restitution or at least 75% of the cost of the repairs this will cost me

Initial Business Response /* (4000, 8, 2013/11/04) */

[redacted] test drove the vehicle before he bought it. He stated that the vehicle shifted rough. I did not say this is a small fix. I am not a mechanic. Because of the price, [redacted] decided to buy the vehicle, knowing it may or may not last for who knows how long. he also negotiated away the $150 doc fee that we charge.

To resolve the problem I checked and priced out a rebuilt, as well as a used transmission. Neither was an option that [redacted] wanted. At this time he was then offered to bring the vehicle back and I would give him a full refund towards any other vehicle on the lot.

I feel we are more than fair in offering a full refund towards any other vehicle on our lot. I am attaching as-is documents that were signed in compliance with the state of Washington.

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 10, 2013/11/04) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

A full refund was not an option that was given to me. Just an exchange for another vehicle. Every other vehicle on the lot would of cost me an extra $1.000.00 or more for the price difference and buying another vehicle with similar or worse problems. Their lot attendant did mention to me that it was a small fix and just to drive careful and it should be fine. The vehicle I bought has over 180,000 miles on it and the seller offered me a transmission that had 150,000 miles on it for $1,500.00. I declined because that was not reasonable price or fair. Their ad mentioned the car was in great shape and runs great which was completely false. Now I'm stuck with a car that cannot drive and cannot sell without losing half of what I payed. The only option I was left with was to pay an additional $2400.00 for a whole new transmission. I'm very unhappy
