Review: No repair estimate provided by TNT upon numerous requests

TNT contracted by Old Republic Home Protection to repair/replace my roof heating & air unit. I have been advised by both TNT and Old Republic there will be additional costs to me that are not covered by my home warranty. I spoke to [redacted] on 6/13 he gave me his e-mail address to request an estimate. I sent the e-mail on 6/14. I waited a couple days and checked e-mail... no estimate. 6/17 I called [redacted] at Old Republic, he put me on hold to contact [redacted]/TNT re estimate, [redacted] came back on line and said [redacted] would e-mail estimate tonight.

6/18 checked e-mail...no estimate

6/19 checked e-mail...no estimate

checked spam folder...no estimateDesired Settlement: I would like to be provided with all relative information regarding the replacement/repair of my heating & air unit along with all related per item costs

Business' Initial Response

I deal with warranty work. The lady didn't like the fact that the warranties policy is when the contactor gives them the cost breakdown they do not provide that to the client in a written form and so to cover my rear and I follow the same procedures. the lady didn't like that and decided to file a complaint with the Revdex.com. and every time I did give the lady a quote she would state I can do that I have my own contractor he can take care of that and so I reiterated to lady that if I'm going to be the one contacting the job this is going to be my cost breakdown for the job. I told her that I can give her the cost breakdown verbally and she can write down the cost breakdown, but that I would not submit a written break down due to the fact that the job is being conducted through the warranty company and I'm only following the process and procedures that they do.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

More lies by Mr.[redacted]. I did not hang up on Mr. [redacted] "several times", only the once when he was yelling at me on the phone. There was no further contact between us after that.

I was not rude nor did I yell at him and I expected to be treated in a proffessional manner, this was not the case in my dealings with Mr. [redacted].

I never threatened him, after his 4th failure to send me the requested estimate as he promised, I simply filed this complaint. Also, there never was any discussion about the "disposal fee" as he never provided me with information on what I was paying for.

I find it unconscionable that Mr. [redacted] would not provide me with an explanation of what his $1970.00 fee consisted of.

The warranty company DID assign the contract to another HVAC company. This company had no problem providing me information on their fees when I requested a breakdown. The new unit has been installed AND with no problems between myself the warranty company or the service provider.

Business' Final Response

to begin with, we have the right to refuse service to anybody. When she ([redacted]) threw her childish fit to the warranty company. I tried contacting her and she was not in compliance with how we do buisness. She hung up on me several times. which is very unexpected coming from somebody who's old enough to be my mom. She then threatened me with what she's doing now. but the main reason for us refusing to provide her service is because I had mentioned the disposal fee and she was like I can do that myslef which is not how I do buisness. The warranty company didn't farm out the job I did not want to do buisness with somebody as rude as ([redacted]). We have the right to refuse service to anyone.

Review: TNT lied about there being damage to our air ducts and offered to fix the non-existent damage for $300.

This company came out to check our heating and A/C ducts after we reported a problem with airflow to our home warranty company. TNT said there were holes in the ducts due to rats chewing through them and that 20 ft of duct needed to be replaced. After our home warranty company said they wouldn't cover pest damage, TNT offered to fix it for $300. My husband went up to the attic to check out the problem to see if we could handle it ourselves, and lo and behold, couldn't find a single hole, chew mark, rat dropping, or anything visibly amiss. TNT outright lied about there being any damage and were apparently planning to fraudulently charge us $300 to repair the non-existent damage.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $60 service charge. I would also like TNT to admit their lies to my home warranty company so that I can get another company to come diagnose and fix whatever the problem actually is.

I really don't have the energy to deal with ignorance. the duct leak is not a visible leak it is on the back side and u have to pull it back to locate it. You could have called instead of making an illegitimate complaint. You will not be refunded your money. And next time please before u go name calling and start filing complaints u should call the owner instead of making inaccurate accusations.if you have any further questions you can feel free to contact me and I would love to teach you what I've been doing for over a decade. your husband is obviously not a professional in this field So I would recommend him sticking to his day job. And next time if you have any questions you should just call us. You seem a little hostile about the situation and its really not that big of a deal. Thank you for your business I forgive you for your ignorance and have a great day.

Final Consumer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

We had [redacted] out to get a second opinion. [redacted] has an A+ Revdex.com rating and A rating on [redacted]'s [redacted] After an hour and a half spent inspecting every inch of our ducts, during which he invited by husband into the attic to watch his inspection, the [redacted] tech couldn't find any of the damage described by TNT. He did find a number of other issues that he said should have been noticed and brought to our attention by TNT's tech. The [redacted] Tech was able to fix our airflow problems during the appointment, for nothing more than the service call fee of $69, by reconnecting a portion of duct that had not been properly connected at some point.

Now, since the business owner brought it up, I will address his reaction to our complaints. After filing this complaint he called my husband and I incessantly early on a Sunday morning. I did listen to his explanation of where the damage supposedly was. At that time he made the same argument that we wouldn't be able to find it because we weren't HVAC techs, and so I told him we were getting a second opinion. As soon as he heard we were getting a second opinion he started threatening to sue us. Being the daughter of an attorney and a law student myself, I am not going to continue talking to anyone who has just threatened to sue me.

I would still like a refund of the service call fee of $60.
