Review: The new roof was an on going process starting in June/July and finishing up 12/23/2014. A majority of the roof was completed in temperatures ranging from 20-30 degrees. What we are left with during the installation and the aftermath was a roof that leaked and continues to leak. He ended up tarping the roof during the installation only after we called and complained of the roof leaking. He sent someone over after the installation was completed for repairs but the roof continues to leak. Messages were left on his cell phone/home phone and text messages were left with no response. Because of the the cold weather installation the shingles did not seal and there are numerous nails that are still sticking up and poking through the shingles when you walk on the roof. In addition there are a number of broken and torn shingles used. Holes in the valleys. Areas where shingles were installed over existing shingles and a section of the roof that still has the original shingles. Nails through the roof edge. The house doesn't seem to be properly ventilated. We agreed to replace the ridge vents with regular roof vents but the house is hotter now then before. Only 6 vents were used on the entire roof which I was told it would be adequate. The wrong size roof jacks were used for the vent stacks and they are not sealed along the flashing. Shingles along the flashing done improperly .There are a number of nails heads exposed to the elements and not sealed. If repairs were made to the existing roof the maintenance would be on going and a yearly ordeal. I'm not sure he even installed the shingles we agreed upon. Too many problems and mistakes.Desired Settlement: Refunded total monies in order to hire another roofing contractor of our choice to start all over by stripping and re-roofing the entire roof. I also don't want anyone with the business or the owner on our property.
