My wife and I hired [redacted] and T-Square to be our general contractor on several projects for our home. These projects included painting, some carpentry inside the home, stone work and a new deck. Throughout the project [redacted] was difficult to get in touch with, didn't provide answers when he did call back and brought in sub-standard workers for the jobs. In one situation, he and one of his workers did crown molding work during the day and left 1-2 inch wood splinters all over our living room floor, knowing that we had a dog and and a small child at home. There was no followup after each of the jobs were completed to see if the work had been done well and when we brought several issues to his attention, he simply made excuses for why the work wasn't completed on time or why it was sub-par. There was zero oversight on any of the projects he started or finished. The final issue was the deck. [redacted] gave us a start date of the first week in May, 2015 and then pushed the start date back to the 18th of May. On the 15th he came over to talk about the final details of the deck project only to tell us that he wouldn't be able to start the deck because he was going away with his family for the week. During the conversation he changed his excuse several times and once actually admitted it was because he had a large kitchen project that he just "had to get done." In subsequent conversations he tried to make my wife and I feel guilty for "taking him away from his family." He never ended up completing the deck, nor did he have his painters return to fix their mistakes. [redacted] is a classic case of all talk and no follow through. I would not use him but if you do, don't pay him until the job is 100% complete or he won't come back.
