Review: Negotiated the purchase of a wooden boat on October 24, 2012. I paid him $[redacted] cash and three $[redacted] Travelers Cheques. Boat was never delivered.

Purchased a miniature wooden boat (US Constitution) on October 24, 2012. According to [redacted], he needed to have me pay cash due to the low price. I paid him $[redacted] cash and three $[redacted] Travelrs Checks. He said the boat would be delivered in three weeks to my home in Minnesota. The boat never showed up. He cashed the Travelers Checks on October 31, 2012. I called him twice and he assured me the boat was coming. I also called the Lahaina Police and they spoke to him. It is my understanding that he has now sold the store and fled to California.

No boat and no refund sent. AMEX can't help because I used Travelrs ChecksDesired Settlement: I want either my boat or a refund of the $[redacted]. I also want to warn other consumers to be careful when dealing with [redacted] at his shop on 893 Front Street. Don't pay cash. Use credit cards
