The eagle talon was droped off on august 8thThe customer brought the car to us and asked us to replace the timing coverMy general manager *** *** agreed on a price with the customer and even set up payment arrangements for them on top of a discounted rateUpon replacing the timing belt it
was found that he would need head work doneWe agreed to have the valves replaced at cb 's because he is the cheapest and the customer insisted on cheapest routeUpon having the valves replaced I bought valves to send with the headI then had a phone call notifying me the valves were not the correct valves though they were indeed for a Eagle talonUpon further inspection of the head gasket the heads on the vehicle was not to an eagle talon at all nor the engineI called the customer the customer said the vehicle was bought that way and he did know that the car was pieced together as a frankinstien car if you will hed try to find outAfter a week he said the guy had no idea which parts or what they come off ofMy manager then told him it would take some time to figure this out.please be patientHe said he understood and thanked us for explainingI then had my mechanic trace the gasket outline and sent him to auto parts stores and he and the comerical managers reviewed book after book of gaskets which took a total of one week to find what the head came off ofIt was a dodge neonAfter finding this we then ordered the gasket and valvesThey had to be shipped and it took more days to get themWe brought the valves to cbs it came back we then reassembled his vehicle and as customer stated the compression was offWe notified him of thisHe wanted to come check hisself so two days later he comes and agreesWe agree to send it back and buy a new gasket with no charge to the customerUpon our company error the wrong head was sent the next day and the customer came and pointed this out before my manager made it to the shopWe thanked him and immediately contacted cbs and exchanged the headThen the customer comes back and wanted to pick up his car and decided against us finishing after my manager told him he could not hang out at our shop day in and day out fussing to customers and our employees both for personal conflict and insurance reasonsHe was very hot headed and pulled his car away leaving the tensioner on the ground by where the car was and stated after cursing my mechanic out that hed own him and the shop if we didnt pay him lost wages and for a new head and for a new timing cover we supposedly brokeThough we never observed the broken timing cover we agreed to buy another oneThe one we bought was for an eagle talonCustomer stated it wasnt the right one so we asked what timing cover is on there he could not tell usThe average cost of a timing cover is around 20$ we would be happy to refund him that but would not refund him for parts we have bought and he has such as timing belt gaskets valves and machine work on the headsAll total parts are 313.63$Valves total at each isGasket at Timing belt at And machine work at His tensioner and head is ready for pick up at anytime at our shopWe will agree to refund labor cost though we spent many hours on this just to show good repore the total of this includes for a timing coverWe do not feel because of his impatience to wait two more days we should pay for towingWe were told not to touch his car and we did not gather his car for him so I do not find it fair that we should pay if anything is not there now other than what we have because we were unable to verify what was there and he cant say of anything missingWe gave him the cheapest rates in town and if he were to take it elsewhere to be fixed would cost atleast double what we did so I do not find it fair for us to do more than remberse him what is left after parts that he paidThanks
